This splendid garden is located in the Avenue Yacoub el Mansour in Marrakesh in the colourful country of Morocco. It was created by the French decorator, architect and painter Louis Majorelle from Nancy(1886-1962). The garden was recently restored and replanted by the designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Berge. The garden,as we know it today,is roughly half the garden, created by Louis Majorelle in 1924.In the garden prominently you can see his painting studio, painted in a typical vivid cobalt blue, known as "Blue Majorelle".This blue colour is also used in more elements in the garden, for example the fountains, waterrills and pots. An important element in the garden is water,as it is in all Islamitic gardens. So you can find a square pool, containing waterlillies and lotusplants.

The plantcollection in the garden is very famous.Louis Majorelle has imported a lot of plants from (sub)tropical areas all around the world. There is a dense vegetation of,for example, palmtrees, jaracandas, dragon trees, cypresses, dense grooves of bamboo, giant euphorbias, aloes and so on. The garden is open to the public every day

What is important is the garden, not the buildings.
I went there and it's a place of peace and silence in vibrant and noisy city of Marrakech.
