Jasonhouse September 22nd, 2002, 02:17 AM We need more pics...

Jasonhouse September 22nd, 2002, 02:36 AM No, not a lame link to a site that doesn't allow hotlinking. Some ACTUAL PICS, posted here.
D-Mac September 22nd, 2002, 02:54 AM Skyscrapers.com allows hotlinking, you just have to know how to work it (a little trick called view - source) ;)

Jasonhouse September 22nd, 2002, 05:44 AM I typically just Prt Scr and host the pic myself...
RafflesCity September 22nd, 2002, 08:01 AM 6.5/10
Nondescript.
Homeroids September 22nd, 2002, 09:48 AM 7.0/10. It looks threatening :)
Phil September 22nd, 2002, 10:03 AM I give it a 8 , I like it.
Insomniac September 23rd, 2002, 01:36 AM Great design! Wouldn't mind it in my city!
8/10
SprattyToronto September 23rd, 2002, 02:03 AM That looks really nice! 8/10!
Caledon1981 September 24th, 2002, 09:06 AM My favorite tower in the state of Missouri ----> 7.4/10
DrumCorpsAlum September 27th, 2002, 10:44 PM 8/10. Neat tower. Love the reflective glass and the color, but something just looks stumpy about it. Still, a cool building.
European October 5th, 2002, 02:45 AM 7/10. nice. the top of the building is looking a bit boring.
Jasonhouse October 5th, 2002, 07:57 AM Man, we're having some real trouble getting some pics of this building. Where's KCGridlock when you need him?
I know full well what the tower looks like. I understand the historical reference fo the massing, but this buildig is no Williams Tower (another 80's tower that took massing cues from a historical highrise style and encased it in glass)...
I give it a 6.0/10 only because it's the city's tallest.
Patrick October 5th, 2002, 07:07 PM 7/10
Pilot66 October 10th, 2002, 02:27 AM I've always liked K C ,but this building is ugly. This dark blue monolith sticks up like a sore thumb in an otherwise nice skyline. It doesn't look any better from the observation deck atop city hall,443 ft,either.
A nice crown and clad other than in glass would have improved my rate of 4. GO CHIEFS
NickT October 14th, 2002, 01:39 AM id give it a 7/10 because it does look threating. But nice glass

Wu-Gambino January 5th, 2003, 06:09 AM 8/10

The Messiah June 27th, 2003, 11:21 PM Another thread where the pics don't work anymore!
BGT July 3rd, 2003, 07:38 AM This thread is so old I forgot about it, but I edited my post with some more pictures. The poll is messed up too. I guess I didn't know how to make the poll back then.
KCDevin July 29th, 2003, 10:33 PM ok, time for one from KC...

Its my favorite building, I know a guy here on the internet that works in it, he took some photos from the top and inside, although the inside photos are gone...
the west side is more elevated than the east, the west is said to be 179m (587.2ft). But the east is of course lower than the west so it has 2 different heights.
BTW most of you at SSP do know that my other name (real name) is Devin ;) Thanks for posting my pics :)
All of the above photos are mine (in my post.) the photos below were taken from other people at kcskyscrapers.com

-The skyscraper is owned by Executive Hills, Inc.
-Its FCC ASR Number is 1064327

-The rise of the escalators is 17'3"

The Messiah July 30th, 2003, 03:53 AM Woah, now the pics work and i love it!
The setbacks and the facade look very nice
7.5/10
Wisma July 30th, 2003, 09:32 AM 8.5/10 nice tower.
SFtoBoise August 23rd, 2003, 11:48 PM 6.5/10
A nice building which deserves an eight. It would look good in Boise. However I'm taking 1.5 points off because Kansas City should be known for it's older buildings, this one ruined the skyline.
KCDevin August 24th, 2003, 06:07 AM IMO it didnt ruin the skyline! would you rather have us looking like this?
http://images.kclibrary.org/images/10004375.jpg
or this?
http://images.kclibrary.org/images/10006070.jpg
I think not, removing the modern buildings makes us only comparable to Des Moines!
This skyscraper adds alot to Kansas City, plus it is the tallest in Missouri. Without it we would not have that title!
SUNNI August 24th, 2003, 07:18 AM y it ruin the skyline?
Fabio November 10th, 2003, 02:57 PM 8.5/10
Great tower

Schroedinger's Cat September 7th, 2004, 03:53 PM 6/10
DamienK September 21st, 2004, 09:13 PM The square top has been extruded too much and makes the tower look unbalanced. 6/10.
