The Skuggahverfi Project includes the construction of a cluster of condomeniums by the city centre's northern coastline. Currently phase 1 is completed with phase 2 and 3 in design.

Plans have been altered though, and the remaining front towers, intended to be 16 storeys tall, will be 20 and 18 storeys tall consequtively. One tower, that used to be planned in the centre of phase 2 and 3, has been dropped out of the plans though.

The reviewed local plan has just recently been advertised publicly. The investor intends to commense construction this fall. I give the altered plans almost 100% chance of approval, since it is basically a minor alteration of earlier plans.

Additionally, three new residential towers of about 15 storeys are currently planned just down the street, only a 100 meters from the Skuggahverfi towers. Rather poor design at the moment, but will hopefully receive some fixing when public debate begins...

Finally, the 16 story Höfdatorg Tower is currently u/c neaby with some 12 storey buildings, including a hotel, in a design phase, also rather nearby. If we sum it up for the City Centre the picture is roughly:

1 x 20 (proposed)
1 x 18 (proposed)
2 x 16 (1 completed, 1 u/c)
3 x 15 (proposed)
2 x 12 (proposed)
3 x 11 (1 completed, 2 proposed)

Things are sure looking bright for scrape enthusiasts :)

You can see the proposed skyline of Skulagata, the northern perimeter street of Reykjavik City Centre on this Pdf - document (http://www.skipbygg.is/upload/files/003-sni%C3%B0%20og%20panorama%282%29.pdf) (you need to look at it sideways, just to ensure that no one is baffled).

Sounds like a good deal to me, samminn. Lose a mid-size tower but get more overall height in return! :okay:

In fact, Reykjavik seems to be on a roll! :)

Cool to see that city centre will get a nice cluster. :)
