i went into buffalo on one of the days of my trip. i got to go up inot buffalo city hall for the first time. the view was great, but the humidity followed me up from delaware, and so i couldn't see very far. i also took other pictures in the city.

the light building? power & light building? can't remember what this is called.

here are a bunch of pictures from the top of city hall. unfortunately, i went when you guys had your "heat spell", and a layer of humidity made visibility poor. i'm hoping to go up to buffalo again in september, so i can get clearer pictures.

Do they do sell Digital cameras in Delaware huh? lol

I feel bad that the weather was so hazy while you had a chance to pass thru, I can't say you took bad pics because I know they would have turned out better if the sun and Buffalo smog didn't determine the shots.

Anyways, great views...a few of them are silutettes that are cool by themselves.

That building you were asking about is called the electric building, and sometimes known as Niagara Mohawk building. Also, The first light house you see along the harbor is old and no longer in use. The historic society saved it from demolition. The smaller one father out on the lake is the one that is actually used.

BTW- I've been to that old style ice cream shop before. Nice place, low custumers though.

If you go to Buffalo agian, I suggest riding on the miss buffalo at the erie basin marina. Cheap, last time I went it ws only $4 per ticket, and it provides the best views of the skyline.

Also, the USS sulivans is the smaller ship. The large one is the USS Little Rock :)

i knew it was something like light, power, electric, etc. i've seen it plenty of times, i should remember the name by now.

i want to go on the miss buffalo, but i never "have time". i'm usually taking advantage of the great beaches in the area, or the great waterskiing. now that i know that tickets are only $4, i'll have to make sure i take in a trip. i haven't been on it since i was 7 or 8, so it will almost feel like a new experience.

I wonder why I never saw this thread, looked like a sunny, but somewhat humid day that day when you took pictures, I'm looking to go up to the City Hall observation deck someday. I will also have to consider riding the Miss Buffalo.

On a clear day you can easily see the mist from Niagara Falls and the city skyline from the top of this buildings. It is also beautiful how one can see the river cutting through the landscape.

Nice pics. I love Parkside Candies... been going there since I could walk :)

I was able to get a very distant but evident Toronto skyline from city hall the day I was up there.
