Hey everyone, I'm new here :). I have always loved Thailand and see it as my second home. I'm ethnically Thai/Chinese and can speak both Thai and Mandarin but my reading and writing skills are pretty bad hehe. I was born and raised in the state of New Jersey in a small suburban town 15 minutes away from NYC and I'm currently going to college at Rutgers NB. I was really happy to find this forum because I really appreciate Thailand. I've noticed BKK has grown so much and I'm really proud to be Thai. I went to Thailand last summer and took a lot of pictures which I will share with you.
Let me introduce me

I, my brother Champ, his girlfriend Jessica, and friends Peter and Katie flew from JFK nonstop to Seoul for 16 straight hours of boredom but the Incheon International Airport remedied that. One of the nicest airports I’ve been to. Last I went to Thailand they weren’t even finished building it yet. I plopped my ass down at one of the internet cafes and waited 3 hours for my connecting 7hr additional flight to Khuntiep BKK.

We arrived at BKK International Airport really late that night. We threw everything in the back of my cousins truck and drove to my cousin P’ Tu and P’ Su’s house where we were going to stay whenever we were in BKK.

Downtown BKK is huge. There is so much to see and do and the shopping and food are amazing. If any of u guys ever decide to visit Thailand you definitely have to go to The Emporium, IT Mall, Siam Square/ Discovery, MBK, all the Central Malls, ChabuChak Market, and Kao San Road. Mind you it’s best to take the Sky Train or subway everywhere because there is usually too much traffic. (The view of Bangkok at the top was taken from the internet)

BKK and Chiang Mai have some nice ass cars. I’ve never seen so many Ferraris driving around before. They just happen to drive by whenever you’re on an expressway or parked in a mall. In the last pic, this guy has 4 Ferraris, a F50, F40, 575, and a 360 parked in a fully air conditioned glass garage. He must be a really rich because to import any car into Thailand you have to pay 200% tax.

RCA is also located in downtown BKK and is a movie theatre and go-kart/ restaurant racing complex. You race in a fully air conditioned multiplex around 14 corners. My bro and I only got to race their twice and it was definitely worth the baht.

P’ Su and P’ Aun brought us to the Grand Palace located in BKK. The architecture and gold towers and statues were really something to marvel at. You have to dress appropriately in order to enter meaning they don’t allow shorts, flip flops, tanks, skirts, etc. If you didn’t dress appropriately they actually give you clothes to wear.

My cousin P’ Jiep decided to bring my brother and me to Chokchai steak house and ranch for lunch. You basically eat your meal and take a tour of the ranch and farm facilities for an hour and a half. They have horse back riding and western themed games set up all over the place. It was very touristy but the food was good and we got free ice cream and soy milk!

These are pics from Jomtien Beach and a private isolated island we visited. It was really hot and humid that day but the water was great. It was really picturesque like those commercials you always see on TV.

My brother Champ finished his racing course and received his certificate from Taki Racing School with flying colors. He got to drive these Formula Renault 2000cc 160hp lightweight carts which were really hot! These are a few pics of the course and of him racing.

My dad, Pete, along with myself went to Kao Samook to go feed the banana hating monkeys. They only like to eat rambutans and sugar cane.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Kao%20Samook%20Collage.jpg
We all flew to Puket but the weather kinda sucked. It rained a lot while we were there. We got to watch the Puket Phantasy show which was pretty good and feed a baby elephant.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Puket%20Collage.jpg
Koh Grabi is another island we visited. We just relaxed and went sight seeing for the most part. These are some pics of the hotel and landmarks.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Koh%20Grabi%20Collage.jpg
We drove to these natural hot springs but I forgot to take pics. Never bathed in one till now but all I can say is that they were great. The pics below are of the fresh emerald mineral pool that we visited after the hot springs. The water was really nice and clean but was really cold.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Emerald%20Pool%20Collage.jpg
We took a boat to Koh Bahnyi which was a floating community. It was our first stop before we continued to James Bond Island.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Koh%20Bahnyi%20Collage.jpg
They filmed a James Bond film here a long time ago and thus the island has been known as Koh James Bond since then. The island has a lot of natural beauty and some really impressive rock formations like that huge pillar in the water.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Koh%20J.B.%20Collage.jpg
Koh Phi Phi is probably the most beautiful island we traveled to. The beaches were amazing and the water was crystal clear and full of tropical fish. We hopped on a boat and circled the island to some really isolated spots to snorkel. When you’re in the water the fish swarm around you like crazy. You could literally grab them in your hands. It really makes me quite sad that the island was totally devasted after the tsunami. :( these pics were taken only a few months before the tsunami.

I was told that Hua Hin is where the Thai people prefer to go when they have vacation. Hua Hin is known for it’s first class spa resorts. A family friend is the owner of a Condominium Complex in the pic and gave us their suite for the weekend. The condo has an amaxing pool on the roof and a crazy view of the whole beach front. You can horse back ride on the beach and para sail but the water is sometimes full of these huge jellyfish like the one next to my foot in the pic.

This temple on the way to Shang Rai is probably one of the most beautiful and highly decorated temples in Thailand.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Shang%20Rai%20Collage.jpg
These are pics from the Maesa Elephant Camp. Most of the elephant trainers are boys in training themselves. The elephants can play soccer and can paint. And the painting of the flowers is amazing!
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Maesa%20Elephant%20Collage.jpg
These are pictures of what Thai people call Thai Switzerland. I like to just call it deforestation.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Thai%20Switzerland%20Collage.jpg
Chiang Mai is the Northern capitol of Thailand. It’s famous for its Night Plaza and night life. We’ve gone clubbing and pub hopping almost every single night we were here. If you guys ever visit Chiang Mai, Warm Up, 61, and 100 Pipers are a must. All the Thai girls here are mad cute and pretty too haha.
http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~punsit/Pictures/Thailand%20Collages/Chiang%20Mai%20Collage.jpg
The only thing I hate about Thailand is the mosquitoes. We got OWNED! Those are my legs at the top and I got bitten on the BOTTOM of my foot too. That was the worst feeling EVER! That’s Jess foot in the middle after she got bit and that’s my bros hand haha. At least I know American mosquitoes won’t bother me or even compare.

i hope you guys enjoyed my trip and the pics :)
