Wow, not bad! Never heard of this place, what a shame!!!!! Although I know all the bands listed...

Iggy and the Stooges were playing on the blues festival in Luzern last month - this reunion was the big thing here and all the papers were full with stories about the Godfather of American Punk ;)

I must confess, that I am more British oriented - Damned, Clash, Sex Pistols or then early punk or Garage Rock like Seeds, Shadows of Knight and the like...

I met Dee Dee Ramone in Goes once, a friend of mine was his sound-technician (Spencer H)
I went along as merchandiser on one of his last tours, he was a hopeless junkie at the time, a normal conversation with Dee Dee was almost impossible although his music still rocked!
He lived in a commune in Amsterdam for a while

Dee Dee died June 5, 2002 :(

Isn't it that there is only one remaining Ramone?

Just some trivia for the ones that didn't know it: the Ramones took their name and their nicknames from a Paul McCartney inkognito: Phil Ramone ;)

Also only half of the Who are still alive - so next trivia: The High Numbers changed their name after Keith Moon was joining the band (he said on a concert, their drummer is shit, I can do that better - proved it til the drum kit was damaged and was engaged). The name originates from the following conversation:
- Who's playing tonight?
- Yes!
Another name influenced by Keith (or John Entwistle, they are not sure anymore) was on Jimmy Page. The Yardbirds disbanded in early 68 and Jimmy gathered some friends together to form "The New Yardbirds" (they actually recorded together Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy Man). Keith mentioned that their new blues project will go down like a lead balloon. Jimmy didn't think long and said: great - let's call our band "Led Zeppelin"!

Yep: Tommy Ramone is the only one from the original line-up who's still alive
