bs_lover_boy August 18th, 2005, 12:14 PM Few questions about Azerbaijan
1. Is Azerbaijan a ex-USSR country???
2. What form of government does the country have???
3. What language do azerbaijans speak???
Galandar September 2nd, 2005, 10:25 AM Beautiful architecture and setting . Where is Azerjaiban?
Azerbaijan is situated in Caucasus between Europe and Asia. Geographically Azerbaijan is considered as asian country with a small European portion north of the Caucasus rangem but some scientists considered Caucasus as Europe, then Azerbaijan is european country. The country has a border with: Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Turkey and Iran. Azerbaijan borders the Caspian Sea in the east.
Galandar September 2nd, 2005, 10:29 AM Few questions about Azerbaijan
1. Is Azerbaijan a ex-USSR country???
2. What form of government does the country have???
3. What language do azerbaijans speak???
1. Yeah Azerbaijan is ex-USSR country. Azerbaijan was occupied by soviet army in April 28 and became one of the 15-th soviet republics in USSR. In 1991 Azerbaijan regained its independence.
2. Azerbaijan is a presidential democracy. Costitution of Azerbaijan says: "Azerbaijan is a democratic, social, secular and legal country."
3. Azerbaijanies speak azerbaijani language.
samsonyuen September 3rd, 2005, 05:38 PM I didn't know Baku was so beautiful. I've seen pictures of Tbilisi and Yerevan, but not their neighbor. Is it aiming for the EU in the future?
Galandar September 9th, 2005, 10:10 AM Yeah it is one of the aims of Azerbaijan for the future. Azerbaijan is in a process of integration with Europe and Euro Atlantic structures, including EU. Today we have a programm of neighbor relations between Azerbaijan and European Union, but Europe ends here, and who knows maybe in 10 years we will be a part of this union.
Gilgamesh September 9th, 2005, 10:28 AM Looks good :)
Arpels September 9th, 2005, 11:12 AM beautiful country, the best to Azerbaijan
tpe September 9th, 2005, 02:41 PM I feel terrible not being able to see the pics. I do not doubt that they are wonderful.
I missed a chance invitation to visit the region a few years back. For now my soumak from Kuba is the only link I have :)
Nightsky September 10th, 2005, 03:20 PM The metro in Baku looks fantastic (but not the trains)!
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a207/azerbaijan/sumgayit_01.jpg
Is this Azerbadjans Turning Torso?:D
MetroStar September 12th, 2005, 04:00 PM What???Azeri cities are beautiful??
I should politely remind you that EVERY SINGLE CITY IN THE WORLD has one-two beautiful views. But our friend Galandar forgets to send us photos depicting other neighbourhoods as the rest of Baku is only disgusting dwelling and poor people walking withou shoes living in third world conditions without food.
And our friend Galandar mentioned the word ''Democracy'' .The used the word that discribes the political system in Ancient Athens to discribe the political system in a country which is ruled by Soviet ex-Generals ,by Criminals and by Drug Lords .
Azerbaijan should try a lot in order to become a ''country'' .Now it is just a protectorat controled by other countries.

Most of the trains of Baku metro are new, as for the trains in my pics, they are quite normal, not bad.
This structure is situated in the entrance to Sumgayit city as you see the name of the city in the picture.
Gilgamesh September 14th, 2005, 10:19 AM Galandar, Do u have some more street scenes showing the people? :)

First - don't call me friend,
Second - the words you say is not only about Baku or any other azerbaijani city. You can see poor people or poor building in any other country, regardless to New-York or Brussell. Baku and Azerbaijan in whole aren't different from the views in those pictures. And there are even better places and views i have no photo from.
Galandar September 14th, 2005, 10:31 AM Galandar, Do u have some more street scenes showing the people? :)

Yes, it has some influence by French architecture as well. You can feel it in some buildings in Baku: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=883310

Yeah, Some pictures reminded me to Buenos Aires, mostly the Florida street.
So, I thought that Baku could had been influenced by French architecture.
