Remind me never to go waterskiing with you guys. You get a little too close to the falls for my comfort.

Out of towners may not realize that the falls has no safety features. You can boat right over the edge if so inclined.

These are great pics. They show some very rare angles of the Falls and its buildings. The weather looks increadible. Maybe your pictures will go a long way toward debunking the myth that buffalo is a year round frozen wasteland.

Canadians know that Buffalo is not a year-round frozen wasteland - only 'mericans with too much moonshine in their possum pot pie think that it is. ;)

The nice thing about the falls (well, the gorge) is that no matter how much development may try to spoil the place, get down low enough and those trees make it look almost pristine. Like a near vertical riverwalk.

its hard to believe the entire american side used to be covered with factories and that the canadian side was covered with cheap hotels, bars and souvenir shops...

The Canadian side had beautiful parks - and still does. The hotels in Niagara-On-The-Lake (North America's most beautiful community) were never "cheap".

did you miss the 'was covered' part of my statement... ontario fought a pretty extended battle to establish the park they have their today... before that time the only thing that was 'protected' on the canadian side was a 6 foot strip of land along the gorge that was called a 'military reservation'....

niagara on the lake didn't even exist in the time i'm talking about...
