Hi, some of you old school saffies might remember me from SSP, im the guy who did all the diagrams like 2.5 years ago. Well, they need MAJOR updating, and I figured this one would be a good one to start with, since I never finished it completely last time round. I am specifically looking for good pics of the base of the building that joins the two buildings together. Also, any estimates on the height of the second building would be nice.

thanks in advance.

howzitt Jared, good to hear from you again and to see you are keen to do the SA buildings again. Hope the exams went well and you are able to do a couple of SA buildings for us.
Ill get what info I can for you on KEH (old Joburg Sun and Towers to the old Skool guys) but can I ask if you could attempt the best looking buildings U/C in SA at the momnet in a development in Durban called the pearls, with 3 towers up to 200m
Ciao

200m eh? :eek2:

emporis seems to have a bunch more buildings added though (I assume that's one of your guys' doing :D), as well as a decent amount of pics.

I'll probably start with redoing some of my older stuff (KEH, That white mullioned one in Joberg and Disa park, which i never even finished come to mind).

I'll try and dig through this forum for info, but I don't visit SSC much since the Canadian section is full of juvenille "my city is always the best" type forumers.

what we have is tower 1 at 40 F 140m linked via a 4 F podium to the tower 1 which is 22F and aprox 80m . There are some decent pics I added to Emporis from Rodney and Tom so that should give you an idea about putting tall one on left or right of drawing.I suggest you look at Pixies picture with tall on right and the full podium to the left under the tower 2.
If you are keen and I see you have added them to SSP, are San rapheal and Spinnaker

cool!

actually, I was thinking I should start with Pretoria (since its the smallest!) and try and do a methodical city-by-city type of thing.
I know you guys are probably more keen to see the new stuff drawn, But it would be nice to get the backlog cleared (not to mention old square buildings are easier - HA!) I'll update the SAAU building to give it a proper base now that there are photos, and then do some new ones. I'll also try and pester some of the other illustrators to update some of their buildings, especially seeing photos are much better now. Most of my drawings got wiped when my hard drive crashed a while ago, but sometimes the full size ones are uploaded.

actually, if would be nice if one of you guys became an editor (really, all you have to do is ask). I know you guys got put off by the over zealous moderating, but the diagrams are still free :D
I ask because there isn't really anyone to keep things up to date, and emporis is a bit info-fascist when it comes to info.

what do you think?

Sounds good :) I have always liked SSP....though I got hooked on Emporis when SSP got a little outdated. And dont forget Bloem and PE too.......cant forget them :)

ok, does the lower part of the building extend beyond the cutoff you can see in the upper left side?

looks good Jared, not a pretty building by any stretch of the imagination. As you can see I added loads of new Pretoria buildings to emporis.
Good luck ,cheers

answer is yes as the other emporis picture is from the back of the building and you can clearly see that the right side of the tower has a little bit which is the same height as the taller left hand side, but from the ground you cant see it which means its recessed back as well
