hi guys! i'm kinda new in this forum site and this local forum about Qatar instantly got my attention.

i am currently entertaining a job offer in Qatar and i must admit that i am inclined to accept it due to its generous offers, however, i have some hesitations about safety in Qatar especially because this is the first time i'll be working there and i will bring my family with me. can anyone please enlighten me up and give me some insights about the security concerns in Qatar? is it really safe to stay there and how does it compare to other major cities of asia? how about the cost of living there, is it as costly as in western states?

i hope someone will bear some patience for my query.. thanks guys!

Qatar is very safe, if you compare it to other major cities in/around Asia and the Middle East. You are going to Doha during its peak years mate, so there is a whole lot of economic expansion, that you would most definitely enjoy your time there.

I havent been to Qatar a lot, but my friends tell me that its very safe and secure. There arent a lot of traffic jams, life is fairly calm and there is no major concern about Qatar's safety. So I say, go for it. :)

By the way, welcome to the forums mate. I hope you enjoy your stay.

To keep it simple, safety was never and hopefully will never be a concern in Qatar. Im not talking about safety in the sense of terrorism only, im also saying its one of the very few cities where you can leave ur car running with ur cell phone and wallet in and come back ten min later with nohting touched.

I will gladly answer any of ur questions, after i finish my vacation ;)
