Which state do you hear the least about (either by other people or in the media)? I would say Wyoming or Montana. For its population, you don't hear very much about Wisconsin either.

You never hear much coming from Idaho for some reason. I always thought WI was pretty well covered for it's population. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't hardly hear a damn thing about Maine. Kinda wierd. Wyoming too, but mostly Maine is the one I don't hear hardly ever mentioned.

Not on the list, but I think this one takes the cake, actually.

I'd go with Nebraska, if it was on the list.

North Dakota, it has the least tourism and smallest Gross State Product of any U.S. state.

The only thing anyone might recognize North Dakota for is the movie Fargo, which was almost entirely set in the bordering state of Minnesota!

I'm going with Wyoming. At one point I forgot that it even existed.

Nebraska?
No way. Nebraska's got a lot going for it. Omaha is one of the fastest growing plains cities, Lincoln is a nice capital city, their college sports are always powerhouses. Granted, if Nebraska were only the western 2/3rds of the state, you probably wouldn't hear much.

Now that eweez mentioned it, Maine is probably my choice. I almost forgot it's there.

DELAWARE. I haven't heard Delaware mentioned on the news or read anything concerning Delaware.. ever, I think. :tongue3:

I say Vermont. I would have said Idaho, but I keep seeing that state on the sacks of patatos I buy :)

Definitely Maine. It's not that I have a problem with Maine, I just always seem to forget that it's kind of tucked up there beyond New Hampshire. :(

California!!!

Seriously... um... North Dakota.

Trying to salvage the pointlessness of this thread. Don't you think people are going to post a least mentioned state that is not their own and of course far away geographically-wise?

DarkFenX
August 21st, 2005, 05:16 PM
^^ Not really. Even though I think Wyoming is the least known, I also think W. Virginia is the 2nd least known and WV is geographically close to Massachusetts.

I'd say Delaware.
If it weren't for Delaware Punch, I would never have heard of it at all.

Not on the list, but I think this one takes the cake, actually.

I voted for North Dakota but I think this is true :dunno:
I lived in Virginia for a few years and I still never heard anything about West Virginia. The fact that Samsonyuen forgot to put it on the list speaks volumes

Wyoming is the least populated state.

North Dakota, I never hear anything at ALL.

Wyoming is second, only cause Cheany is from there so thats some info and news I hear.

Hmm, I've heard alot about North Dakota because in Canada it's been all over the news lately. I'm gonna have to go with New Hampshire since I hear nothing about it even though it's so close. I've heard a little bit about Vermont because of its skiing. :)

Deleware...has anything ever happened there? Ever? At least Wyoming has Yellowstone which sometimes generates some news.

West Virginia, I think.

I surprised at the amount who voted for north dakota. I think the movie "Fargo" was enough to put it on the map, or at least sub consciously make a note about North Dakota in their mind.

I'm surprised people voted for New Hampshire. Every four years, thats the only state you hear about for a few months. Its the first Presidential primary state and it goes a long way to deciding who runs as the candidate for each party.

When I think of North Dakota I think of nothing. My mind just goes blank. If I were to close my eyes and try to picture North Dakota, literally all I see is ... nothing. Absolutely empty blank space, a complete and utter void. Just ... nothing.

When I think about ND, I think about Bismarck, its capital. It seems it should only be spelt Bismark.

It's the one directly north of South Dakota. It's not a very important place, and I seem to have forgotten its name.

Azn_chi_boi

Is there anything important from North Dakota... I never hear anything from that state. At least South Dakota has mt. rushmore, so its not totally forgotten.

Wyoming and Vermont are a toss up for me.

The states on that list should be the ones that are not mentioned in the top part of the U.S. section on this forum.

Wyoming, West Virginia, North Dakota.

I though Idaho was very known, I have hear a lot about it and about Boise City (Isn't it the third largest city in Pacific Northwest?)

I didn't read the poll that well when I voted, but I decided to vote North Dakota before even opening the thread. =P

I hear way too much about Wyoming though being in Northern Colorado.

New Hampshire outside of the primary season. It's so bad that if I'm watching the news and happen to hear NH mentioned, I have to stop what I'm doing and turn up the TV.

(This only applies to when I am in Chicago obviously)
