I like the Millenium Quarter, Castlefield, Deansgate, the CBD area, Whitworth St and Cheetham Hill. I also like Worsley (where I used to live) a lot.

Probably the area's that involve Exchange Sq, Cathedral Gardens, St Ann's Sq, and Deansgate. They really must do something with Picadilly Gardens, though. :runaway:

You have caught Picadilly Gardens from one of it's better vantage points there, behind you lies the infamous berlin wall and behind that picadilly plaza. (cue the music to hitchcock's thriller Psycho :eek: )

Wondeful architecture, old and new, with a continental feel!

The Midland Hotel, G.MEX, Radisson Hotel, Bridgewater Hall, Barbirolli office and square, Great Northern tower, Great Northen warehouse and square, Convention Centre and Windmill Street, if and when it happens!

However, once Spinningfileds is complete I might have to change my mind?! Stunning modern architecture, finished off by No1 and some wonderful open spaces! :)

Exchange square is world class imo...Love it...Though i cant stand that new arndale exstension, loada tripe exterior wise...

Northern quarter, Exchange square, Deansgate.

City Centre wise: Gay Village, Cathedral Gardens, Great Northern Square (when
busy) & Granby Row (the nice part).

Suburb wise: Worsley (stunning!), Heaton Moor, Whalley Range & surprise
surprise, Didsbury!

Any saturday afternoon on Market St. After being turfed out of a Royal Exchange matinee performance, or a visit to the flics.

Early evening just before Christmas in St Anne's Sq and Deansgate. Then eating bratwurst and getting pissed in Albert Sq.

Stop-start traffic on the M60

The myriad of different cultures in Cheetham Hill and Longsight. Hassidic Jews alongside African women in traditional garb.

All of which just serve to remind you that you live in one of Europe's biggest and one of the world's most cosmopolitan and dynamic cities.

Always had a soft spot for St Anne's Square, the church and the passageway leading through to King Street

So many lil spots to choose from, I love coming out of Victoria Station and seeing Co-op bank and CIS, not sure what it is, but theres something about those few buildings that always impresses me.. Then I love being near the Town Hall with King St tower in view as it peeks above everything, if only we had more like it.. Also love sitting by the Picadilly Garden water fountains on a sunny day, (probably with back towards the plaza, lol) er.. St Annes sq too is nice, but im sure over the next few years more places will become popular and made more accessible for people to continue this cafe and outdoor culture

just looking at this thread makes me realise how many good 'areas' we have in the city; and once all the current developments (spinningfields, picc place etc.) are completed, we should have many more. then the city centre will really be something and "world class"
