Noida is much more like Delhi than UP. It has the best infrastructure for any UP city (better than the capital, LKO, in many ways).

I had formed this analogy in my mind a few years ago. You know how China has two nation policy for mainland China and Hong Kong? Similarly, UP has two UP policy for Noida and rest of the state. I know this is exaggeration, but the reason is simple; you dont want to mess with a cash cow.

Theres a national highway, i forget the number, running from Ghaziabad to Delhi (not the Delhi-Meerut one), and it runs on the boundary of Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida's district), and the land prices on the Noida side are almost double the land prices on the Ghaziabad side!

Yeah - same problem everywhere there is large scale construction activity..however awareness on part of builders is necessary as well especially working towards preventing spread of sand/concrete all around

Nothing special but just loved the maintainance and cleanliness of the road..
This road (in front of sector 15 which goes upto the Noida entrance and beyond) is perhaps the most well kept road (if u exclude the expressways)

I think sometimes we need to accept comments without being defensive. That road is indeed made poorly for few reasons:

1. purpose for zebra crossings?
2. The road divider does not look to represent the peripherary of concentric circles.
3. The road curve itself is not smooth and displays varying periphery instead of a smooth curve.

I'm from chennai and had gone on a brief visit to Noida.I stayed in my Aunt's home there and though I did not look much around Noida, I was very impressed by the city.This must be one of the best cities to live in India.It has all the good things of a metro but without most of the accompanying problems. The best part is the presence of parks everywhere.I guess no resident in Noida will be more than .5 km from a park..Roads are just awesome... Noida rocks..

I like Green Valley but I hate to say I hate the poles and cables...!

After learning from chandigarh, Haryana govt laid underground cables in Panchkula(a kind of chandigarh suburban, the most planned city of Haryana), But in Gurgaon and Faridabad they did not do anything inspite of being in NCR or may be they followed Delhi. I donot understand why this is not a priority when they are building entirely new areas

Poles are spoil sport and the construction looks shoddy..
btw the roads are just too narrow... no place to park cars and stuff ...
also it needs some pavement for people to walk...
i guess nobody cares about the aminities for the middle class people...

with construction boom come rising land prices and so developers look for ways to reduce construction costs... so they make narrower roads and no sidewalks... suks for the people living in the neighbourhood but increases the profit margins for the builders... sadly all new housing projects in my city are also being built the same way

I've been in noida last two weeks.
It is impressive the fast development. The fast running new infrastructures are huge and I think that noida face will change in a very short time.
I also have to notice that behind all this wanderfull wind of change I still saw some signs of the deep poverty faced by a large number of people in the streets.
I hope that this development will bring some new opportunities also to that part of the population.
I will post some pictures in the next days

Better Lighting is needed for the underpass.

The lanes are way too wide man in the second picture. The road could easily have been designed for 3 lanes.

the lighting is decent..
my camera wasn't configured aptly for the pic at that point in time.. :(
but yes the lanes are wider for a 4 lane and narrower for a 6 lane underpass..
so i guess its good that they stuck to 4 lanes and not 6
