We have to evolve, we need to be sensitive with the dynamics of global economics. According to studies, golden age of Philippine BPO is coming up until 15 years (from 2008 na study). And then ma-plateau na yung increase. Hopefully, we wont rely much on BPO, we have to diversify our economic bases and niches.

Business expected to perk up in Iloilo





ILOILO CITY, Feb. 18 (PNA) – Efforts to sell this city as a destination and relocation site for investments are picking up with the full swing construction of various infrastructure supports, according to Lea Lara, executive director of the Iloilo Business Club (IBC).

“We are quite hopeful with the developments right now,” she said. “We’re happy that even the locales are now investing on their properties.”

At present, there is an on-going construction of the Plazuela de Iloilo where the second floor is expected to house business process outsourcing (BPO) firms and the proposed investment of the Ayala de Iloilo, both at the Diversion Road area.

Likewise, she added that they have been talking to the Panay Electric Company (PECO), the lone distributor of power in the city which assured that their Baldoza substation will become operational this year thus boosting the power supply here.

Further, more hotels are going to operate within the year, she said.

Lara said their campaign in the past years is “gaining ground.”

With this development, she stressed that a big challenge is waiting for whoever would be elected mayor of this city.

“He has to be up for the challenge that is being faced by these coming developments. We hope that what is happening now especially on the side of investments will be maintained,” she added.

She likewise said that the election season is expected to perk up the local economy with the projected volume of spending. (PNA)

Customer service is no longer the main thrust of BPO. BPO companies are gearing towards financial (billing), medical and web development services. Tech support is another thing. Customers nowadays are overloaded with information because of the emergence of WWW.

On one hand, I am looking into more advance concept of IT. Aside from software development, I am dreaming to see the whole city and province as well to capitalize on Web 2.0 (higher level programming) and Semantic Web, Embedded Systems and Data Mining. Afterall programming languages are evolving and we should easily adapt. I am thinking more on Technology incubation not only the software development side but also hardware. The world is entering the era of Supercomputing and Quantum Computing... which reminds me to ask... do we have any supercomputer in the city?

The universities of the city should start building good and superb data centers, ones that can handle complicated data simulations and data mining.

I trust the Ilonggo minds. Mathematically speaking we are more than capable. We have a lot of talented Ilonggos when it comes to computing and innovation aspects. It is just a matter of providing them a good venue to execute their mental creativities.

Like I said before. I am dreaming of having Iloilo as the center of IT and Science R&D of the country. We may not gain so much from it now but I am 100% sure that we will rake trillions and trillions of dollars in the future. Just like what they did in Silicon Valley.

Business expected to perk up in Iloilo





ILOILO CITY, Feb. 18 (PNA) – Efforts to sell this city as a destination and relocation site for investments are picking up with the full swing construction of various infrastructure supports, according to Lea Lara, executive director of the Iloilo Business Club (IBC).

“We are quite hopeful with the developments right now,” she said. “We’re happy that even the locales are now investing on their properties.”

At present, there is an on-going construction of the Plazuela de Iloilo where the second floor is expected to house business process outsourcing (BPO) firms and the proposed investment of the Ayala de Iloilo, both at the Diversion Road area.

Likewise, she added that they have been talking to the Panay Electric Company (PECO), the lone distributor of power in the city which assured that their Baldoza substation will become operational this year thus boosting the power supply here.

Further, more hotels are going to operate within the year, she said.


Lara said their campaign in the past years is “gaining ground.”

With this development, she stressed that a big challenge is waiting for whoever would be elected mayor of this city.

“He has to be up for the challenge that is being faced by these coming developments. We hope that what is happening now especially on the side of investments will be maintained,” she added.

She likewise said that the election season is expected to perk up the local economy with the projected volume of spending. (PNA)

Well, their place is really nice, everything is very simple. Electricity, Water, Rent - very cheap! Taxi meter - Boo! Grabe magpatak taxi nila. Ang jeep and pedicap ok guid ang plete. Sa mall, gamay guid ila di na mall na lapit sa dagat. I am speaking in behalf of the Manileño friends that i have here. We were there last dinagyang and they were quite amazed of our own Supermall. Ang aton na mall daw mall guid sa Manila because of the shops. Ang diri daw mall lang daw para may mall man sila. Ang namit lang di ang ila manok. Other than that, waley na! And they always associate smallville to metrowalk na bigger version lang. Ang comment lang nila is ang road gamay but may flyover ya daw. One thing that is making leverage would be the internal politics of Iloilo as well as external factors such as economic fluctuations, national and/or international issues, disasters. When you think about investing and business, always take consider the risk of losing as well. Business is a gamble.

Happy ako sa iban nga newbies, tulad ni labeth, ken, kal, etc... kay focused sila sa ila nga discussion. Deadma nila kung ara or wala sa BCD. Deadma nila sa mga issue. Dapat amo gid man na dapat. Focus lang kung ano may ara kita diri. Bay-i lang na ang iban nga lugar.

Baw, kalaw-ay man gali kung uber-competitive ka ah. Tanan na lang butangan mo sang superlative.

This makes Iloilo / MIDGC the festival capital of the country. Tani year round na lang ang festival. Both the City / MIDGC and Province should sponsor the festivities.

ang Fort San Pedro si Rommel Flogen naman ila choreographer ... mayu man tani galing guin adopt nya more on Dinagyang nga concept indi ang mardi gras teh daw out of place gawa ila choreo sa Samba. Guin recycle nila dayun ang headress from last month nila nga peformance .. same with Iloilo City NHS (Silak).

One thing I noticed is that there are very familiar head dresses that were used in Samba. The one that I noticed was Fort San Pedro National and Iloilo City National High. The same head dresses/design that they've used in Dinagyang with Tribu Pan-ay and Tribu Silak respectively.

And Marc...oks man imo nga kuha. Daw challenge bala manguha picture sa amo na nga oras kay may hulag. :D

A PERSPECTIVE OF THE PARAW



THE PARAW

The principal attraction of Iloilo Paraw Regatta is the double outrigger boats called “paraw”.

This native sailboat has been in existence for no one knows how long.

But the fact remains that the people of the Iloilo Strait are still to this day using the paraw as a means of transportation as well a source of livelihood.

With a fresh breeze, and an Ilonggo at the helm, the paraw is a strikingly fast boat, making 20 to 30 kph through the waves.

Indeed, the paraw was the inspiring prototype from which the Westerners have developed what they call the trimaran, the fastest sailboats now on the planet.

THE OUTRIGGERS


Paraws are fitted with outrigger floats of bamboo to stabilize the boat and prevent the slim main hull from tipping over.

The outriggers curve upward toward the bow to refine their impact on the waves, and most importantly serve as platforms on which the crew can stand to use their weight to create further stability against the tipping force of the wind in the sails.

For maximum speed, the outrigger will not be submerged, but just kiss the surface of the water.


THE HULL

Built up from a carved keelson with plywood planking for the sides, the hull is pointed at both the front and back ends, with the rudder hung off the side astern.

The key feature of the hull is its slim shape, with a length to beam ratio of 20 to 1.

Such proportions create a knife-like effect to cut through the water, freeing the boat from displacement constraints.

Also, sideways drift, or leeway, is largely eliminated. For racing purposes, the boats are divided into classes on the basis of waterline length.


THE SAILS


Originally made from woven matting, sails nowadays are stitched up from synthetic awning materials.

The small forward sail, or blade jib, feeds the wind into the powerful, low-aspect driving mainsail, the boom of which extends several feet beyond the boat’s hull.

In ideal conditions, the paraw can sail close to the speed of the wind.

For racing, no limits are imposed on the size of the sails.

if it is indeed about the rankings, as someone who had been with the bpo industry for sometime, i could say those in the list are basically good/great companies. of course, i could only speak from my experience and from a combination of industry grapevines and insider first hand and secondary information.

pero notice ko lang, those bpo companies who don't advertise themselves so much in the sunday edition of the manila bulletin for example are, in many cases, the ones with these three good combinations: a good corporate culture, high pay, and nice benefits and perks. i'm sure bernie and metroiloilo know what i'm talking about here. ;)

but in the bpo industry, rankings are in a way, based on revenues which in turn is dependent on the size of the bpo company. of course, that's not always the case! consistency of performance is also important. plus the cost offered by these bpo companies to the clients thru biddings with and in competition with other bpo firms vying for clients' contracts. these are some of the factors for the high rankings. still, congratulations to those who made it to the list.:lol:

by the way:

if the construction of ayala will commence, i'm sure plazuela will not take it lightly. this is the beauty of competition where it forces those concerned to improve their business. the end result is that the consumer is the ultimate beneficiary of this improve business situation.

I say, some of us are also stubborn as well.

I think they're mature enough to read it so. I'm doing this part for us, not for them. It's not like everyday I'm a diplomat and I know and very much certain that they're reading/lurking here as well. So I do not need to tell them there otherwise.

They never purchased the complex, they just rent a part of it.

Well, their place is really nice, everything is very simple. Electricity, Water, Rent - very cheap! Taxi meter - Boo! Grabe magpatak taxi nila. Ang jeep and pedicap ok guid ang plete. Sa mall, gamay guid ila di na mall na lapit sa dagat. I am speaking in behalf of the Manileño friends that i have here. We were there last dinagyang and they were quite amazed of our own Supermall. Ang aton na mall daw mall guid sa Manila because of the shops. Ang diri daw mall lang daw para may mall man sila. Ang namit lang di ang ila manok. Other than that, waley na! And they always associate smallville to metrowalk na bigger version lang. Ang comment lang nila is ang road gamay but may flyover ya daw. Damu pagid dira ya mga sinful na mga meals na super enjoy sila. Excited sila gani mag open da ang Ayala kay atleast may bag-o naman dira. AND mind you, just mind you - they hate us here.LOL

My sources still say all systems go for SB here. And in addition, we might have another "copishop" to open, in Ayala. Besidesthink wala pa gin turn over sang SM ang building for tenants. LA PAZ, Iloilo - Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago has described last week's accusations of former Senator Franklin Drilon against Nacionalista Party standard bearer Manuel Villar Jr. on the Savannah Subdivision as "highly suspicious."

In a chance interview with reporters here Thursday night, Santiago, who is seeking reelection in the May elections, said: "I find it very suspicious that the charges against Manny Villar in connection with the Savannah Subdivision here in Iloilo should be raised only when he is now running for president of the country."

Santiago, who hails from Iloilo, said that if the conversion of the land was truly irregular, then it should have been reported earlier and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) enforcement officials should have already looked into this and brought the matter to court.

"The fact that if there is an irregularity it was not at all investigated or prosecuted, but being revived just because he (Villar) is about to place himself in the lead of the surveys, it’s very highly suspicious," said Santiago, a former judge and agrarian reform chief during the Aquino administration.

"It should have been raised at the proper moment. In law, failure to act on your right or your privilege is already taken as a manifestation of consent. So they consented, in other words, they were quiet when they should have been making noises about investigations or even prosecutions," she added.

Illegal conversion?

Last week, Drilon claimed Villar facilitated the illegal conversion of prime rice lands in an Iloilo town to build a subdivision for his real estate development company Camella Homes. [See: LP: Villar converted rice lands for Iloilo subdivision]

At the same time, Drilon, who is seeking to return to the Senate in the May polls, said Villar had a road built along Jibao-an in Pavia town, which will pass in front of Savannah subdivision in Brgy. Polo Maestra Vita in Oton town.

The Camella Homes website features Savannah subdivisions in Iloilo as one of its properties.

But in defending Villar, Santiago said that it was not completely prohibited to convert agricultural lands to other uses such as commercial, industrial or other uses provided the procedure was followed.

"And Mr. Villar claims that he followed the procedure. If that is the case then there is no illegality about it because the law itself allows it," Santiago said.

"Remember, as a former agrarian secretary, I was very, very aggressive against land conversion because I thought it sabotaged the mission of agrarian reform. But I have to admit there are certain exemptions when the law itself makes this allowances. So unless they can prove that procedures at that time promulgated by the DAR was not followed then there is nothing to question about the legality of the subdivision in Iloilo," she said.

Visit to Savannah

On Thursday, Villar visited Savannah Subdivision located in Jibao-An, Pavia together with reporters.

Villar said the subdivision is not a new project. "Ten years na sila rito at nagsimula lang ito sa apat na ektarya. Lumaki nang lumaki, nakapagbigay ng mahigit na isang-libong tahanan sa mga taga-Iloilo (It's been here for 10 years and we started with four hectares. We were able to expand our land properties and provide houses to a thousand Ilonggos)."

Savannah now occupies some 12 hectares of land.

He reiterated that the transactions his company entered into were all aboveboard, denying accusations that his company built the road in front of Savannah.

"70s pa 'yun. Alam naman nila, nagtataka ako kung bakit taga-rito naman sila, di nila alam yung road na yun. Hindi kino-construct yung road na yun. Hindi bago yun, lumang-luma na yung road na yun... matagal na yang kalye na yan, alam nila yan. Hindi kami ang gumawa niyan," he said.

(Transactions for the subdivision were all done in the 70s. I don't know why my accusers do not know that I was not the one responsible for the construction of the road. That road has been there for a long time. The locals know it.)

He added that it was the former local officials of Iloilo, among them Raul Gonzalez and Augusto Syjuco, who pushed for the construction of the Jibao-An national road. - RSJ, GMANews.TV

ILOILO City – Nacionalista Party (NP) standard-bearer Manny Villar yesterday vowed to implement more infrastructure programs and build more road networks between and among the provinces in Panay to spur progress in the island if he is elected President.

In a press conference, Villar said the people of Panay are clamoring for change and progress, which can only happen if more funds are poured in to stimulate its economy.

“Yung Roxas City, for example, mahaba pa rin ang biyahe papuntang Iloilo. Sana mapaganda natin ito para magkaroon ng mas masigla na interaction itong ating taga-komersyo, na galling sa iba’t-ibang lalawigan dito sa Panay, yang Aklan, Capiz, Antique at saka Iloilo,” he said.

Villar also said he intends to make Iloilo one of the top provinces in the country if he gets elected President.

“Sa tingin ko talaga, itong Iloilo province ay gawin nating No. 1 sa buong Pilipinas. At masasabi ko naman sa lahat ng taga-Iloilo na wala namang magmamahal pa sa Iloilo province nang higit pa sa akin dahil itinuturing ko naman na taga rito ako,” he said.

He added: “I get things done. Makikita po natin ang malakihang pagbabago na mangyayari dito sa probinsya ng Iloilo.”Villar considers himself a true Ilonggo since his father, Manuel Sr., hailed from Cabatuan and Balasan towns.

His grandfather was from Molo, Iloilo City and his grandmother was from Cabatuan town. Three of Villar’s four sisters also married Ilonggos from Dumangas.

“Ang aking lalawigan ay Iloilo. Sinasabi ko naman na ang tatay ko, dala ng kahirapan, ay nagpunta sa Tondo para makipagsapalaran sa Maynila. Hindi naman niya ako mabigyan ng pamasahe papunta dito kaya noon ay hindi ako nakakapunta masyado dito,” he said.

“Pero talagang noong bata pa ako ay walang tigil yung tatay ko sa pagsasabi na kailangang matulungan natin itong lalawigan na ito. Kaya nalalaman naman ng mga Ilonggo hindi lamang dito sa Iloilo, buong Panay, buong Region VI, na walang makakatulong na pangulo, na kandidato, lalahatin ko na, sa ating probinsiya na hihigit pa sa akin.”/PN

“Sa tingin ko talaga, itong Iloilo province ay gawin nating No. 1 sa buong Pilipinas. At masasabi ko naman sa lahat ng taga-Iloilo na wala namang magmamahal pa sa Iloilo province nang higit pa sa akin dahil itinuturing ko naman na taga rito ako,” he said.

His grandfather was from Molo, Iloilo City and his grandmother was from Cabatuan town. Three of Villar’s four sisters also married Ilonggos from Dumangas.

“Ang aking lalawigan ay Iloilo. Sinasabi ko naman na ang tatay ko, dala ng kahirapan, ay nagpunta sa Tondo para makipagsapalaran sa Maynila. Hindi naman niya ako mabigyan ng pamasahe papunta dito kaya noon ay hindi ako nakakapunta masyado dito,” he said.

“Pero talagang noong bata pa ako ay walang tigil yung tatay ko sa pagsasabi na kailangang matulungan natin itong lalawigan na ito. Kaya nalalaman naman ng mga Ilonggo hindi lamang dito sa Iloilo, buong Panay, buong Region VI, na walang makakatulong na pangulo, na kandidato, lalahatin ko na, sa ating probinsiya na hihigit pa sa akin.”/PN

Villar, Aquino have yet to corner Ilonggo vote–Santiago

ILOILO CITY – The battle for the hearts and minds of Ilonggo voters is far from over.

Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, guest reelectionist candidate of the Nacionalista Party said on Thursday night that neither Senator Manuel Villar Jr. of the NP nor Senator Benigno Noynoy Aquino III of the Liberal Party has cornered the Ilonggo vote on Panay Island, Negros Occidental and parts of Negros Oriental.

Santiago made this candid admission in an ambush interview following a grand rally of the NP slate at the La Paz town plaza on Thursday night, which capped two days of campaigning in vote-rich Panay.

The NP led by Villar, his running mate Loren Legarda and senatorial candidates swept the three provinces of Panay, tirelessly traveling by land for two days from Roxas City in Capiz to Aklan and then to Iloilo.

The feisty senator, who was born and raised in this city, said that no national leader or party was able to have the solid allegiance of Ilonggos since she ran for President in the hotly contested 1992 elections.

Although backed by practically the whole Visayan vote, Santiago lost by a slim margin to then Defense Secretary Fidel Ramos.

Asked if Aquino had chances of securing the Ilonggo vote, the senator said: “That’s right. But we’ll see because Villar's father is from here. He has a lot of relatives here.” Villar Sr. came from Cabatuan town.

Aquino has no roots in Iloilo, but he is being supported by former Senate president Franklin Drilon, a prominent Ilonggo who is seeking reelection to the Senate under the LP.

Aquino's running mate, Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas, hails from Roxas City.

So what would convince Ilonggos to vote for either Villar or Aquino?

Santiago said Ilonggos would go for an opposition candidate.

“It will depend on their perception of Manny either as a true oppositionist or a secret pro-administration bet,” said Santiago. He warned that Villar could be “destroyed” politically if his campaign failed to dispel the suspicion.

Villar has been denying the allegation – mainly coming from LP's public relations strategists – saying this was part of the “lies” being peddled by the other party to arrest his surging survey ratings.

But Santiago said that Aquino was also surrounded by has-beens and old politicians who were once staunch defenders of Ms Arroyo.

“Yes, isn't it? No one is really pure,” quipped Santiago.

Santiago took time to explain to reporters covering the NP slate why she thought that Iloilo, or Panay for that matter, neither belonged to NP or LP.

She said that the command of the Ilonggo vote had change hands – from Fernando Lopez to ABS-CBN patriarch Eugenio Lopez then to the influential Ledesma clan.

“Iloilo had been the home turf of the Ledesma and Lopez families. Now, no one knows because none of their heirs has undertaken the political mantle that was so overwhelming during the prime of the Lopez family. So you can't tell if Iloilo will eventually vote for Villar because his father is from Cabatuan town,” said Santiago.

She said that Aquino should not rely too much on Drilon's vote-getting prowess.

“Let's see. Iloilo, like most highly urbanized areas, has always opted for the political opposition. Whoever is opposed [to the administration], the Ilonggos will go for him. They admire people who fiscalize. In this case, there will be a very strong sense of Cory [Aquino] sympathy, but then again if you juxtapose that to the fact that Villar himself comes from an Ilonggo father, they might become even and none of the other candidates in the other political parties speak Ilonggo," Santiago said.

“That’s their problem. It’s very hard to claim to be an Ilonggo and not be able to speak the dialect,” she said.

At the end of the day, “political organization” will carry the day for the Villar-Legarda tandem, according to the senator.

“It's a question of political organization. The traditional principle is the person who has one, organization, and two, funding, is going to win because presumably the funding and the organization will make him popular enough,” said Santiago.

Villar, the self-made billionaire, boasts of a political machinery at the grassroots and national levels. His posters are everywhere from Tawi-tawi to the rice terraces of the Cordilleras.

One waterloo for Villar, however, is the long-pestering issue of the C-5 road link controversy.

“Because if that has an effect in the minds of the people, it will have a huge impact on his votes,” said Santiago.

However, Villar's saving grace has been his simple lifestyle and his ability to explain his immense wealth, said Santiago.

“Unless they [Villar's critics] can show that the wealth comes from suspicious sources, there is nothing you can say [against Villar], except that he’s very lucky. He’s a very lucky man. Ngayon, kasalanan ba ang maging maswerte ka sa buhay [Is it a sin to be lucky in life]?”

She said that Villar, when he was starting in politics, did not have a lavish lifestyle.

"He became Speaker of the House and Senate president, yet he didn't have jewelry. He doesn't wear expensive clothes, just an ordinary Barong [Tagalog],” said Santiago.

“I think riches, or inordinate wealth, can be a cause for concern if there is no visible source of the wealth. But in his case, it is documented. He has his wife who comes from a well-to do family, while Villar came from a lower middle class family,” she said.

The Villars, who were classmates at the University of the Philippines College of Business Administration, were industrious when they were younger, Santiago added.

Ilonggo seafarers to show mettle in 38th Iloilo Paraw Regatta

The seamanship of Ilonggo seafarers will once again be tested in the 38th Iloilo Paraw Regatta sailboat competition this coming Sunday, February 21. Iloilo Paraw Regatta is one of the city’s well-placed tourism events after the Dinagyang festival.

The yearly event organized by the Iloilo Paraw Regatta Foundation Inc. chaired by Manny Villa Jr. has gained recognition from the Association of Tourism Officers in the Philippines as second best tourism event in the country.

The contest of the outrigger boats has been part of Ilonggo history. The native sailboat was used as means of transportation. The sailboat contest started in early ‘70’s. The winner in the 1973 paraw regatta competition under category A was Teodoro dela Cruz.

The competition using engineless paraw starts at Tatoy’s Manokan and Seafoods in Sto. Nino Sur, Arevalo. There are two categories for participants, mostly fisher folks from the towns of Jordan and Nueva Valencia in the nearby province Guimaras, towns of Leganes, Tigbauan in Iloilo province and Hinigaran and Valladolid in Negros Occidental.

In previous contest, there was also a participant from Boracay. The participants have mastered the skills on how to make their paraws be in unison with the waves.

In Category A, the sailboats have the waterline length ranging from 16 feet and below. The organizers strictly impose the use of indigenous materials for the paraw’s hull and outrigger.

Paraws with waterline length of 16.1 feet up to 22 feet are classified under the Category B. The organizers strictly impose that hulls should be made of wood though they allow the use of aluminum for outriggers.

The paraws are also classified into two, the painted and unpainted. There is a contest of painted paraws aside from the race itself. The Pinta Layag event organizer will determine the painted paraw.

The race course for both category A and B will cover an approximate distance of 23.8 kilometers which has its starting point at Tatoy’s Manokan and Seafoods in Sto. Nino Sur, Arevalo.

The paraw race also covers Iloilo City to Fort San Pedro to Sto. Rosario Buenavista to Nagba Point Jordan and Bundolan Point. They will return to Tatoy’s Manokan and Seafood as its finish line.

Cash prizes await the winners. Initially, there are some 75 participants who expressed their intension in joining the yearly paraw competition.

Aside from the main event which is the paraw sailing contest, the foundation has also lined up several activities to add more color to the event. The event is expected to draw crowd in the long stretch of Arevalo beach.

MIWD starts water scheduling February 19

Iloilo City (18 February) -- After conducting a trial-run for water scheduling, the Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD)will implement the scheme February 19 likewise urging the consumers to cooperate and understand the inconvenience caused by the El Nino phenomenon.

Engr. Le Jayme Jalbuena, general manager of the MIWD disclosed during the PIA-Cable Television program that they are doing their best to provide its consumers with safe and adequate water supply considering that there is now a sharp decline of water level from the source of their raw supply in Tigum River.

"On normal condition, we are producing 28,000 to 30,000 cubic meters per day but due to the dry spell, the production drops to only 21,000 cubic meters a day," Jalbuena said.

The MIWD has 31,000 to 32,00 service connections and they will try to provide the consumers with water on a scheduled basis.

Jalbuena said that starting February 19, Maasin will get water daily between 5:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.; Cabatuan- Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday-Sunday between 5:30 A.M.-8:00 P.M.; Sta. Barbara, they will receive water daily between 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.; Pavia, daily, 8:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.

For Jaro and City Proper- daily, between 12:00 Midnight to 8:00 A.M.; Mandurriao (from San Jose Miguel to Guzman Decena including JMI Village-Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday between 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.; Mandurriao North- Daily between 6:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.; Molo and Arevalo- Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between 6:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M.

"We conducted a trial run, and we observed that the said areas get their water except Timawa, Baluarte, Calumpang and part of Molo," Jalbuena said.

To mitigate the situation, Jalbuena said that they have instructed MIWD personnel to conduct a relocation of water valve in Molo so that the affected areas of Timawa, Baluarte and Calumpang areas could also be served.

One of the reasons as to why the three areas have less water supply, Jalbuena said that they could not locate anymore the water valve which was covered by the new asphalt overlay (pavement) of the DPWH.

The MIWD, he said, has already coordinated and asked permission to the DPWH, to open the new asphalt-paved road so that they could immediately do some adjustments, repair or rehabilitation as the case may be. (PIA6)
