View Full Version : The future of South Park?
CarsonCaliBrotha August 27th, 2005, 09:41 AM Seriously, does anyone see some of the problems with it? So many residential buildings being built, but what's up with the dining options? Like I said in another post, I was hungry during the X-Games, and I had to walk like 3 blocks to find a Subway. But along the way, I see some 4-star dining resturant. Then I look across the street, another 4-star dining resturant....where's the fast food places? I mean, if I was just walking around I don't wanna go in to eat some Cafiltafish, I want a Big Mac Meal. And don't get me started on the prices of McDonalds in the Staples Center. Also one thing I noticed, there's so much residential space opening, with adeqate parking. From what I've seen, the Res buildings are still segrated from the commercial buildings, why don't they have too many mixed-use projects? Also, from what i've seen, there is like nothing to do out there. I think it'd be dope to live there for a day, but from what i've seen, South Park living is just like Carson living=everything's a bus ride away, not much except the local gas station down the street. If they fix problems like this then it'll probably kick off.
squeemu August 27th, 2005, 10:39 AM I wonder if L.A. Live will have some fast food? Hopefully that will fix some of the problem. I guess that with everything else, the more people who live in the area the more fast food will move in. I remember hearing that the Ralphs complex will also have a quiznos and coffee bean...or something like that.

Yeah but Quiznos and Coffee Bean....B-rated places. Hell they have a Quiznos up the street from me. Can't say I'm a fan.
squeemu August 27th, 2005, 09:10 PM Well, to each his own, I guess. I think Quiznos is much better than Subway :-D

Yeah, but that's not my point: there needs to be diversity. I mean, not everybody(I mean, I hope not) likes eating caviar and Subway. I mean, at least put in some McDonalds, soul food places, Mexican restaurants, and other types of food. What they should do is make it NY-style with retail space at the bottom for any kind of business.

How about Panda Express? That's good one.
RBR August 28th, 2005, 07:41 AM Maybe LA Live will bring some diversity in terms of dining, me personally i never eat fast food buts that's me.
LosAngelesSportsFan August 29th, 2005, 08:34 AM First you need demand then you get the anemities. There are at least 15 projects in south park alone, and almost all of them ahve street level retail/food. Add that to the Huge LA Live project (Breaks ground sept 15) and you will have plenty of cafes, sandwhich shops, fast food and other mid level restaurants all opening up soon, believe me. With 10,000 or so people living that close together, there will be tons of food there relativley soon.

Well, obviously, very few people are like you. Personally, fast food is good if your trying to get something good fast. I mean, not everybody has time enough to go into a restaurant and eat. Once you get a job and find out the meaning of "lunch break" you'll love fast food.

Or better yet, making your own lunch and bringing it to work.

Thats true. Not many people are like me. A lot of them are grossly overweight. Thanks to fast food. As for lunch breaks and getting a job, done that already. id never eat fst food though as its not food. Its garbage people stuff themselves with and later cant understand why they are fat slobs. What is there to love about fast food? The fat, cholesterol or the copious amounts of sodium? Or the fact that McDonalds puts some thing they call meat into their burgers but which never reminded me of meat?
FROM LOS ANGELES November 29th, 2005, 03:52 AM Iy you want to eat cheap, go to Macys Plaza, there's a Carl's Junior in there, and a whole bunch of other fast food places.

Well, you think everybody thinks this way like I said? I mean, iPods are probably the worst mp3 players out there, but yet they sell the most. Same situation here.

Actually I think you missed the point here.
It might taste good but it's far from healthy. Now you'd say fuck that but what you dont realize is you're made of food(or a substitute) and your health, both mental and physical depend on that.
Sure everybody has time to go into a restaurant or grab some snack from home. It's about priorizing and knowning what's really important to you.
You could play the victim and say you really have no time but do you really want to lie to yourself?
squeemu November 29th, 2005, 09:38 PM I think fast food is good if you eat it within reason. I will maybe eat it once or twice a week, and even then I try to get the healthier stuff. No double bacon greasy burgers for me :)
FROM LOS ANGELES November 30th, 2005, 12:33 AM Fast food comes in handy every then and now, but if you eat it every day you got a pretty heavy problem, lol.
