Alba to add sixth potline
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) will add the sixth smelting line to its facilities which currently produce 830,000 tonnes of aluminium annually.
Alba will start the first steps of this huge project following the official opening of the fifth potline scheduled for September 5, said a Bahrain News Agency report.
It quoted Alba deputy chief executive Mahmoud Al Dailamy as saying that the sixth line will be cheaper than the fifth line which cost $1.7 billion.
The sixth line will meet the growing needs of aluminum at the local, regional and international markets, he said.
