Question to Paulinistas (I think thats what you call them) - why does Sao Paulo have no really massive towers, like say Asian mega cities??

I would really love to see a few 300m plus towers in this city.

^^ Ask city mayor....there are 3 official projects of mega towers one in anhembi(for a new CBD),other in aplhaville(not really são paulo city but metro area) and other in Luz district in the downtown

When I get 17 or 18 anyway the age to go to the college I'm going to live in SP if I can in the city downtown I always talk bad about SP downtown but i love some of the buildings like this one of the pic,Id like to have an apartament in a building like this for my young age :P and for my adult age a house in Jardins HAHAHHAHA

Paulista Avenue has many broadcast towers because this district is the highest level of the city.

Actually, it was the other way around. Once upon the time, CGH domestic airport was in the outskirts of the city, but with the city growth, that's where the city is right now!

Martinelli is awesome, but it was not the 1st skyscraper in Brazil. The first one was in Rio, called "Edificio A Noite", being the tallest in the continent, with an already modernistic feature. A few ears later Sao Paulo passed this reccord with Martinelli, ressembling beatifully a more ecletic style.

^^ Are you sure? How tall is it in meters? Source says it was completed in 1930, while Martinelli was completed (without its penthouse) in 1928 (although the last 8 floors were left empty until 1934).
