When are you travelling? If it's during the summertime, you can book a dormitory room at a local university for about CAD $40 a night.

i'm planning to visit Montreal sometime next Spring or Summer....

$40.00 a night sounds great, but don't you have to be a student at the university to stay there?

You don't need to be a local student to live in these universities' residences in the summer.

Concordia : http://residence.concordia.ca/summer.html
$35/night for a single room

MxGill : http://www.mcgill.ca/residences/summer/
$45-55/night for a single room

Univ. de Montreal : http://www.resid.umontreal.ca/vert/
$36/night for a single room

Sorry for my late response, but try the College Residence at 1 Rene Levesque Blvd. Stayed there during my visit. About $70 per night.

I have to visit the University of Concorcia. Then, if anyone has some information on low accommodation closed to this university
