Use: Commercial http://tinypic.com/bgwzfm.jpg Dubai-Lover August 31st, 2005, 10:05 PM as you can see in the pic a new, taller tower will be built next to the dcci we know the dcci building is 90m tall, the new one is significantly taller, i guess about 130m! the design is very similar, but as far as we can see in the model, it looks a bit more modern and futuristic i'm excited about more details malec September 1st, 2005, 01:22 AM It's a nice design I think because the two will complement each other. Looks like mini emirates towers. Chad September 1st, 2005, 02:45 AM What is the DCCI Tower I looks like? smussuw September 1st, 2005, 03:45 AM DCCI 1 is on the right. I have a better picutre for this new tower. I am bit sleepy, Ill have to install the USB for my nokia cam. Ill post later. It looks totally different from another angle. It reminds me of another tower but I really cant remember which. Trances September 1st, 2005, 03:56 AM having trouble with where the tower is located compared to the old one Chad September 1st, 2005, 05:06 AM Probably will be built on that current car-parking landplot? http://www.am.joneslanglasalle.com/NEWS/2002/11nov/Dubai.jpg dubaiflo September 1st, 2005, 12:48 PM most obviously. looks good imo. good addition on the creek side... smussuw September 1st, 2005, 02:31 PM Here we go. Sorry for the bad quality as I took it by my fone. http://tinypic.com/bhn1bp.jpg dazz September 1st, 2005, 02:58 PM oh wow, it will be nice addition :) malec September 1st, 2005, 03:01 PM Looks great! Almost the same as united tower but smaller Trances September 1st, 2005, 03:08 PM thats what i thinking but the ways its joined angles in all directions SA BOY September 4th, 2005, 03:00 PM this is effected by the airport restrictions Dubai-Lover September 4th, 2005, 03:19 PM makes more sense for this area! guess the limit will be below 200m here in the model it looks like 140m, max 150m SA BOY September 5th, 2005, 09:19 AM the heights from what we can gatter are set at 90m which is strange cos the NBD is 117m etc. Just have to wait and see. I actually heard more on it yesterday and apparently the GCAA is issuing an instruction as the federal aviation authority to the DCA who will have to issue via rulers court a decree on the matter. Another reason is the fact that all emirtes planes are getting a GPS system that is not good at reading vertical issues (dont understand myself) but anyway the plan is for emirates to onely use the current airport and all other airlines to use the Jebel ali ariport in the future dubaiflo September 5th, 2005, 10:07 AM man if this is getting serious it sucks deep... AltinD September 18th, 2005, 09:13 PM Better Render: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/altind/P1000765.jpg Dubai-Lover September 18th, 2005, 09:29 PM i don't think this is the dcci altin! dubaiflo September 18th, 2005, 09:36 PM but i do... ;) look at the render by smussuw it is exactly the same!! SA BOY September 19th, 2005, 11:50 AM it is, I this is the creek side of the tower. Saw a design for this last week Dubai-Lover September 19th, 2005, 12:36 PM oh, i've not seen the render but in the model it looks totally different dubaiflo September 19th, 2005, 06:13 PM which model? AltinD September 19th, 2005, 06:47 PM ^ The one on the picture with Shaikh Mohamed on it. AltinD September 19th, 2005, 06:50 PM BTW, the picture posted by Chad is almost 10 years old. The Etisalat tower had just broken ground and where is the ARBIFT Tower. :D dubaiflo September 20th, 2005, 06:14 PM LOL who cares but it shows the location. luv2bebrown September 22nd, 2005, 10:30 PM this tower is amazing. looks like the proposed United Tower. i love the new low/mid-rises coming up around deira and the maktoum bridge. Face81 October 23rd, 2005, 02:39 PM fantastic, so when does construction begon and end? some more details, please. :) Dubai-Lover October 23rd, 2005, 02:44 PM let's hope they didn't cancel this one with the height regulations still nothing seems to have happended Face81 October 23rd, 2005, 02:48 PM let's hope they didn't cancel this one with the height regulations still nothing seems to have happended I hope not.... but when have regulations stopped Dubai from doing something? ;) I lost my thread on that EMAAR tower near the clock tower.... cant find it. LOL Intoxication October 27th, 2005, 06:11 PM Looks awesome Chad December 11th, 2005, 02:32 PM http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3642/10eg2.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/1157/129qq1.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/5402/137eg.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9749/142ih.jpg malec December 11th, 2005, 02:42 PM Amazing: Dubai should shit on those height restrictions and build this the way it it's shown there :D Tom_Green December 11th, 2005, 02:53 PM Amazing: Dubai should shit on those height restrictions and build this the way it it's shown there They made the height restrictions not for fun. If you watch the take off of some planes in the Creek area you will understand that this is necessary. The height restriction is for the safety of the passengers and for the people who live in and around the towers. And i think that a extrem tall tower there would destroy the Creek skyline. dubaiflo December 11th, 2005, 03:32 PM well this one is not that tall and would look amazing. great renders!! Dubai-Lover December 11th, 2005, 05:58 PM great find chad this one is so great it will give the deira skyline a great boost it must be built!!! smussuw December 11th, 2005, 06:01 PM no it must not malec December 11th, 2005, 06:25 PM Why not? smussuw December 11th, 2005, 06:31 PM because I said so :D AltinD December 11th, 2005, 10:36 PM Build it please. It doesn't look taller then the NBoD anyway. scorpion December 12th, 2005, 03:15 AM perfect in-fill~~ :) Trances December 12th, 2005, 03:33 AM creek front could do change SA BOY December 12th, 2005, 09:05 AM a NIMBY in our midst??? delores January 11th, 2006, 08:10 AM looks interesting.... for dubai pity its mirror glass though...who's the architect? Just a small concern here....if everyone lives in gated communities drives to work drives home never leaves their resort like condo's apart from to drive to the shops because thats about the only thing they can do. Does anyone ever really walk around these towers? I would be surprised if they do...just a thought when doing these renders. AltinD January 11th, 2006, 12:57 PM ^ SHUT UP TROLL. Face81 January 11th, 2006, 03:00 PM what ever happened to this one, anyway? dubaiflo January 11th, 2006, 05:54 PM not sure it could have been affected by the height restrictions, but there was nothing concerning this lately. maybe it has just not yet started. btw agree with you altin. Dubai-Lover January 11th, 2006, 07:12 PM as per the newpapers this project is approved logically thinking, this one cannot be affected by any height restriction dcci is 90m tall and national bank of dubai 125m this one here is next door and is not much taller than dcci, maybe 30m taller hence, when there is the national bank of dubai, why should a tower of the same height be not allowed on this plot? Face81 January 11th, 2006, 08:20 PM It hasnt started yet, thats for sure.... Good point, Dennis, it doesnt seem to be much taller than the existing chamber of commerce. It must be in the final planning stages. Well thats what I am secretly hoping for, anyway. ;) http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/5402/137eg.jpg dubaiflo January 11th, 2006, 09:45 PM this is effected by the airport restrictions makes more sense for this area! guess the limit will be below 200m here in the model it looks like 140m, max 150m the heights from what we can gatter are set at 90m which is strange cos the NBD is 117m etc. Just have to wait and see. Face81 January 12th, 2006, 12:48 AM ;) never think reasonable concerning those restrictions. they do no allow a 300m tower close to the ET, but a 1km tower 2km further down. dont u mean 0.7 - 0.8 km tower? ;) malec January 12th, 2006, 01:46 AM Pessimistic as usual :D Face81 January 12th, 2006, 12:35 PM Pessimistic as usual :D who is, me? Never! ;) What makes u say that? :D dubaiflo January 12th, 2006, 02:27 PM lol it is me, i always say malec is too pessimistic. but it seems like you are as well :D Face81 January 12th, 2006, 10:18 PM lol it is me, i always say malec is too pessimistic. but it seems like you are as well :D well, i guess i am often accused of being a little too pessimistic... though my glass is always half full. :D dubaiflo January 12th, 2006, 10:41 PM i wonder if DUBAI every experienced a glass still half full :runaway: AltinD January 13th, 2006, 12:00 PM ^ For him was either full or empty. Face81 April 22nd, 2006, 08:07 PM Whatever happened to this beauty???? THE DUBAI GUYS September 10th, 2006, 02:46 PM Whatever happened to this beauty???? well what happened was that we now know its a 2 tower complex....quite high for the area...since the allowed limit is 17-20. EoIs issued for Dubai chamber of commerce The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) by 17 September from about eight Dubai-based contractors for its second Deira building complex project. The scheme, expected to go for tender in early 2007, will see the construction of a 20-storey and a 27-storey tower at the existing DCCI site. Both will be linked by a podium to the chamber’s current building. In addition, a three-storey car park, with space for a 1,000 vehicles, will be built on the opposite side of Baniyas road and will be connected to the main complex by an air-conditioned, moving walkway contained in a new footbridge. The architectural consultant is US-based Gensler Associates; the UK’s EC Harris is the project manager. R dubaiflo September 11th, 2006, 12:52 AM great, i just hope they keep the design since it is pretty awesome, those would interact together quite good, like the ET or Al Fattan. Krazy September 22nd, 2006, 05:33 PM Gensler to design Dubai Chamber of Commerce The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has selected international architect, Gensler, to design a 140,000m2 campus within its existing headquarters. http://www.itp.net/pictures/news/137p7200.gif The two new towers on the site will be 21 and 26 storeys high and will be linked to the main chamber by a bridge. Consisting primarily of two towers (27 and 21 storeys high), as well as a multi purpose hall, car parking and a bridge link to the main chamber, the scheme will act as a destination hub for DCCI’s 79,000 members, allowing new companies to take office space in the building, and offer support to the organisation with new business facilities. Work on site is expected to start in the first quarter of 2007 and tenders have not yet been sent out for the contract. “This building, combined with an efficient site-planning strategy, creates a cohesive DCCI identity and address, reflecting the organisation’s stature and adding value to its core services. It represents a long-term solution and will set the regional benchmark for new buildings to come”, said project director, Philip Gillard. The new scheme aims to give the DCCI a marketable property that will help reinforce its brand in a competitive market. To maximise letting potential, services and support functions are located outside the prime floor-plate allowing easy subdivision into smaller 93m2 tenancies or lettings of 1,858m2. The building will be constructed using energy efficient materials, minimising life cycle of maintenance costs. Gensler is a global architecture, design, planning, and consulting firm. It has 2,400 employees and 32 offices worldwide, including Dubai. Some of the firm’s recent projects in the Middle East include the DIFC master plan, the Gate Building, the new Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dubai and the new headquarters for Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. malec September 22nd, 2006, 06:26 PM The old design is way better Dubai-Lover September 23rd, 2006, 08:27 AM honestly i prefer the new design gorgeous :) Face81 September 23rd, 2006, 03:58 PM The old design is way better TOTALLY agree with you.... it just loks ugly and boring now :( dubaiflo September 23rd, 2006, 08:37 PM well i think it looks good but the old one would have looked awesome together with the old DCCI Face81 September 23rd, 2006, 08:42 PM well i think it looks good but the old one would have looked awesome together with the old DCCI The old design was iconic and would have been a fantastic compliment to the existing DCCI, but this one, although it is nice, is not deserving of such a prime piece of land, right on the banks of Dubai Creek. Dont you agree? THE DUBAI GUYS September 23rd, 2006, 09:06 PM i dunno abt this new design...i mean is this a modern european look?? it looks abit off...i mean if its that colour...no...because it will look hideous but if it going to refelect the creek like the NBD bldg does then ok...
