Im in Nanjing right now actually. Came from Shanghai and going to Hangzhou tomorrow. I'm absolutely loving it.:banana:

It rarely looks that good, most of the time you can't even see the top of it during summer its fogged out in humidity and pollution.

I went up SWFC only a few weeks ago. The view was of whiteness. I couldn't even see the otherside of the river and I could bearly see OPT.

Shanghai feels ok to me. It's no Hong Kong but it is certainly trying hard to reinvent itself. The old side across the river is currently being heavily restored and many of the old buildings have been retained, it has a really nice feel to it, something that places like Hong Kong don't have. The entire waterfront is being rebuilt to increase it's appeal and accessability. Away from the tourist and business centres things will gradually improve, building is everywhere and there is always something to investigate and something new to have a look at. It's a great city to explore, the people ae generally incredibly friendly too.

Their newish metro system works similar to octopus in HK and its rather easy to get around. They are still the only city in the world to be using a maglev in regular revenue service. Best airport connection I have been on.

Pudong has a mssive way to go but it's only new and there will be alot more development to come. relaly it's only in the early stages now. The shopping malls along Nanjing Road are as good as any you will find in any city.

Overally I think they are doing ok.
