also posted at skyscraperpage, where they've got a better appreciation of the parts of cities that aren't just skyscrapers (unlike some haters that troll this site, none from the UK of course.)

as most of you know by now, i do also like to see the other side of the tracks of a city, so i don't want to hear any whining about "you're making London look like crap," because that's simply not true (and these areas don't really look that bad anyway, IMO.)

Brixton

i went to see Nine Inch Nails at the Academy with one of my friends, who told me about a newscrew who did a story on crime in Brixton: how long would it take to get mugged?

the reporter went into the station at night and early hours of the morning, carrying an expensive new laptop, asking people where he could plug it in to charge it. the reassuring result was it took 3 days before someone got a new laptop.

Dennmark and Champion Hill

not too sure about the history of this place, although you can't get here by the tube. i stayed at the king's college dorm here one night. it seemed to be a mix of upper middle class to lower class housing.

Ahh... where I was born and bred. I recognise every street in that post. It's really not bad at all, but many of the areas could do with some redelevopment. I'll post some of my pics of these areas soon if I get time.

Nice pictures, there is some great victorian architecture in some parts of Brixton, the place has a real vibe and you got a pic of a really cute black girl, wearing a light pink top. Brixton isn't as bad as people make it out, I lived on Brixton Road half way between Oval and Brixton for a year and I never had any trouble, the next year I lived in Marble Arch and I was mugged one away street from my flat! Its a crazy city. And Nine Inch Nails, good band

what a interesting set of pics. Lovely urban scenes there. A fantastic mixture of stuff there, which is what makes london so great.

Lol...that girl in the pink top is looking at you as if to say "PERVE!"
Really good pics that show just how close nice and not so nice areas are in London...it's similar up here in Manc in some parts.
Them Georgian type houses are really impressive...i'd love it if there were more up here...ideally i'd love to live in a georgian house with a cute little garden and fence and gate...one day...one day!
Well done
