As I was passing though I took some shots of the new Aston University business school. I've gone to post them but the thread looks to have been another hacker casualty, oh well. For those who don't know about it already there's some info about the building on here http://www.adp-architects.co.uk/projectsdetail.php?PageID=9

I'll get some less blurry shots next time. Not sure about the junction between the old and the new building on the road side (sorry, no pic) but it's so beautiful from the guild end. I love it :)

Well, it's safe - not inspiring but not bad. I guess it is perfect for the university, but it is a pity they couldn't be a bit more imaginative.

We shouldn't expect iconic buildings everywhere though ;)

I am getting sick and tired of seeing poor brickwork :bash:

I blame everyone for this - the stupid f***ing bricklayers who know that they should blend bricks but can't be arsed, their employers who pay them for amount of bricklaying done and not the quality of their work, the contractor for not monitoring them and making them take s**t brickwork down and the Client for not saying "this isn't acceptable" and getting the bricks tinted.

It is a simple thing to get right but no-one gives a toss, and this building will be like that for the next 50 years :mad2:

Nice pics though! :)

the worst brickwork on any new build I've seen is the charles church scheme opposite the fish restaurant at the mailbox. it's dreadful
