No skyline... lots of buildings though.
SteelCity32 February 17th, 2003, 01:26 AM yeah, not really anything.
5/10
johonbravo February 18th, 2003, 11:47 PM yeh it is a very low short skyline :D

not one of those are hotels. They are all residential buildings for the inhabitants of the city. And thats hardly a beach, cuz its turned towards mainland, so it looks more like a lake. Most hotels and famous beaches are on the rest of the island.
Besides, there are no pics there of the downtown. The real downtown would be the part of the city directly in front of the two bridges...
even way, the strenght of Floripa is not on the buildings... but on the quality of life, wich is the better place to live in Brasil. GREAT city to live indeed. Amazing beaches all around the city. Great blonde women also :)
schmidt February 21st, 2003, 04:07 AM Actually the best capital :D
Well, downtown part of Fpolis is more historical, tight streets, looks european, portuguese, but the main attractions in floripa are:
- Lagoa da Conceição
- Morro da Cruz (I think this is its name, u can see Lagoa da Conceição)
- Joaquina, Jurerê Internacional, Ingleses beaches...
- Ponte Hercílio Luz (ponte = bridge)
- Its life quality.
Florianópolis is the fastest growing city in Santa Catarina State, has mainly tourist industry (different from blumenau for example). Many ppl go there to either:
- University (UFSC, Public one)
- Life Quality
- Its beaches
It's getting known as the "Cidade Maravilhosa do Sul" (Southern Wonderful City, regarding Rio), but because of this freaking growth, the city is getting a bit violent and you can already see a slum :(
But it's a VERY VERY VERY nice city, I LOVE it and I like to go there whenever I can (rarely :( ).
AcesHigh February 21st, 2003, 06:35 AM but regarding beaches, I still preffer Guarda do Embaú or Garopaba...
DrumCorpsAlum February 21st, 2003, 07:23 AM It's a wall. There is no focal point, there is no height differences as well. This is why height limits fuck cities up the ass, you end up with this. I like the highway on the beach, that's pretty cool. Must be cool to drive down it, with the ocean on one side, endless buildings on the other. It's not too terribly bad. I give it a 6.5/10.

of these beaches, I have already been at Canasvieiras, Cachoeira, Lagoinha, Ponta das Canas, Ingleses, Jurere, Praia Brava and Campeche.

Well I agree that the skyline isnt that tall.....
but Florianopolis is one of the nicest cities to live in all of Latin America and the place is very beautiful-in fact, I have a beach house in Canasvieiras(A beach there) and I would love to move there permanently one day.
TropicalSQ744 April 19th, 2003, 05:24 PM Wow... The waterfront reminds me of Tokyo!! So dense at certian parts yet not really tall!!
