Instead, they choose to build one of the smaller and least desirable buildings. Half of this building will have no sunlight or natural light as it built only meters from the other side of the building. It is like a gigantic air-shaft. WHY???

U should say maschallah the pace of the project is quit good and U are saying so negative things. U now most of the projects in pakistan dont get built because of people which have the smae attitude as you :down::down::down::down:

Thats Karachi slang! I didnt come up with it but it is very prevalent in Karachi. And no ek dum chikna sounds cheap. :laugh:

Most high end apartment complex residents would not want an amusement park across the street ? Or, would they ?

there's a lot of empty space in that area.. it could be near the beach..ppl can visit it just like they go to the beach now.. it could also be in the middle of all the apartment complexes.. it'd just require a lot of empty green space around it.... doesn't hav to be across the street..

good update nouman, they are working on 14th floor the ace of work seems to be very steady.

I wish the Goldcrest project near Islamabad starts again. I like the arabic invested projects in Pakistan, they are of good quality.

The place is Defence Phase 8, it is very well planned and the roads are just immaculate! It was a pleasure driving ont his stretch of road. The pace of construction however is quite shitty. this one building is progressing but the rest have yet to emerge from the ground.

Pretty freaking stupid, when you can import grown trees. And I hardly see any trees in the park, much of it is just an empty field with peripheral shrubs.

The Column works & the concreting slab works on the supper-structure of Tower 4 are 60% complete, and it is already the tallest structure in DHA vicinity.

All these pictures were taken before I even got home from the airport. But that's all for now, at least for a few days. I'll be going on dedicated photography trips around the city at a later date.

Took this from my friends house in Korangi AFB. My cell phone camera doesn't exactly show amazing detail, but the view is quite good with the naked eye from this spot. I'll have a great view of this project from here. Too bad I don't have a DSLR eh :laugh:

Where is the crane of the taller tower?

Honestly, you have to wonder if the initial plan was to draw up fabulous looking drawings of a finished product, sell as many units as possible, start the building to encourage new sales, and then walk away with the money. This happens too often. It is a very predictable scenario in Pakistan.

In any other country, there would be criminal investigations going on and the news media would be all over this story !!

Dear Valuable Customer,

We are pleased to inform you that Creek Marina has successfully encashed two of the three bank guarantees from its previous contractor, Guangdong Overseas Construction Group (“GOCG”) of China. (We expect that we will also be able to share good news regarding the third guarantee in the near future).

The encashment of these (unconditional and on-demand) bank guarantees is the culmination of nearly three years of intensive effort as GOCG had obtained an exparte injunction from the Hon’ble High Court of Sindh which prevented Creek Marina from encashing the bank guarantees earlier when the Company terminated the contractor due to slow construction progress.

As you may be aware, it is an established legal principle globally that bank guarantees are the lifeblood of modern commerce and these should not be prevented from being encashed unless there is a prima facie fraud or great injustice. However, after GOCG obtained the injunction, Creek Marina had no choice but to follow the legal course.

Over the last few years, the Company has made considerable efforts to recover lost time which included appointing two local contractors, various experienced expatriate and local staff, however, our inability to encash a significantly large sum of money tied up under the bank guarantees made life abnormally challenging. Furthermore, weak economic conditions within the country and globally, rising construction costs, devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee did not help our cause – such factors caused almost all major private sector construction projects to be either significantly delayed or suspended.

With the successful encashment of its bank guarantees, we believe Creek Marina has turned the corner and the Company intends to kick-start construction activities immediately. The Company will keep its customers informed of progress made in this regard.

Creek Marina has always operated with the highest degree of transparency and corporate governance. Our accounts are audited by one of he world’s most respected auditors, Deloitte. All monies received from the customers & all outgoing payments are made via an escrow account which is monitored by DHA. All monies received from our customers have only been invested on the
project to cover construction activity. (A portion of these funds were paid to GOCG as advance payment which were backed by an unconditional on demand bank guarantees).

We wish to assure you that we are 100% committed to making Creek Marina a success – your patience and support is crucial to seeing this project thru. We are now ready to move.

Since our last communication with you, we are pleased to inform you that Creek Marina (Private) Limited has managed to overcome one of its biggest hurdles by gaining access to much needed funds owed to the Company by its foreign defaulting contractors. This allows the Company to utilize the said funds to restart the Creek Marina Project and is indeed a great piece of news for all our customers.

We have already taken the initial steps required to restart the Project and are in the process of ironing out a schedule for the utilization of the funds for the Project to ensure complete mobilization of the Company’s contractors on the Project Site.
