Iranian Stadiums we have plenty of them but the problem about Iranian companies is that they dont have good sites where you can find the pictures.?

:bash:

The thing is that currently there is 5-6 stadiums going on in Iran cause iran is hosting international tournaments in the future...

There is a few in Mega City Tehran and isfahan and Shiraz aswell as Mashad..

We have 1 in tehran currently under construction that will most probably have the same looks like Munich old stadium Roof on 1 side :)

But there is 1 stadium i can give you for now and thats Azadi stadium 120.000 seats 2 stadiums and its 1 of the worlds biggest sports complexes features great facilites in every sport and have the worlds biggest swimming pool actually..

enjoy some pictures of it

I dont know how to attach pictures so ill give you links to the pictures

Here it is anyway

http://www.worldisround.com/articles/98910/photo84.html

There is 2 stadiums one is 120.000 and 1 is 30.000 seated...

http://www.worldisround.com/articles/98910/photo78.html

Above link is a pic from the outside

Look at the below link and you will now what i am talking about when i say Azadi stadium of Iran is a GREAT stadium

http://www.tehran24.com/images/iaranvsjapan01.jpg

and here is a pic of the 1 of the sides

http://www.tornadosrapid.at/bilder/matches/2003_10_17_Persepolis-Estheglal_2.jpg

But there is currently 5-6 massive stadium projects going on in Iran..

Well I have to say that is a bit of a surprise. Never knew the place existed!

Looks rather impressive. You should post it as a poll and see what rating it gets.....

Football is quite big in the Middle East and North Africa, isn't it? I was in Jordan a few years back when they won the inter Arab Cup (or what ever it is called). The whole city effectively shutdown for the evening because everyone was too busy celebrating... :)

I suspect Morten M is the sort of idiot who has never traveled outside his home country let a lone outside Europe... so what they hell does he know.

I doubt that its a 120,000 all seater. It just looks no where near that.It may of fitted 120,000 with terracing and masses of standing room areas, but it just doesnt look big enough.

I would say that its around 80,000-90,000 max .

but due to Security reasons only around 75.000 and 80.000 people are allowed into the stadium..!!

It is a 120,000 all seater, now the fact that they don't let in more than 80,000 people anymore is b/c of preventing riots happening again, like after the Iran-Japan game in May, But it is a 120,000 all seater. Why would we say that it's a 120,000 all seater if it isnt? :)

Actually Azadi reminds me more of the old Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

It seated 80,000,but during its standing room days regually squeezed 120,000 in there.

actually the problem is that it doesn't look like a 120,000 all-seater

the "old" stadium Australia had a capacity of 113,000 (all-seater) during the Olympics

maybe you know the number of the rows?
that could help us

It still looks way too small to be 120,000 all seater, compared to other 80,000++ seat venues across the world.

Perhaps a good potion of the "seats" are infact benchs as in many US collage football grounds that also look a little smaller to me than their capacitys would suggest. That would also explain limating the capacity to stop riots aswell since benchs can be effectly the same as stands with no allocated places, hence you can have less than the max capacity but still have a stadium that looks full just with a less dense crowd.

I was wondering; I saw this segment on Futbol Mundial, about the Iranian national team a while ago. Where they, among many other things, followed a group of women to a game (it might have been the Japan game, but I can't remember), because it was very rare, that women had been granted access to the stadium, for a match. They had to use a special entrance, arrive a good deal of time in advance and so on.

My question is: Is it still the same, or are the rules on women at football games more loose now? Since there are a number of women on the pictures posted here.

LoL, i shall correct myself. It isn't a 120.000 allseater but not an 80.000. It's actually a 100.000 all seater but it has a higher capcity with vacant seats.

Sorry i guess i should have re-checked my info :) and sorry if i sounded rude before.

For some reason, this one looks cool to me. Almost like a scene from the movie Gladiator.

Looks more like Mordor to me, in the background. :)

Back on topic:
Nice to see that sports infrastructure is a priority in Iran. With all those big stadiums Iran could even attempt to host a WC final tournament in the future. (of course, after they resolve their "taking over the world with nuclear weapons" issues with the other FIFA member nations )

I like the look of most of these stadiums, but in many of them the fans who sit in the cheap seats (like myself) are very far from the pitch and not that high. Seems to be a really bad perspective to watch a match.

the last thing officials in iran care about is sports , most of the these projects have been going on for over 2 decades and many arent finished when opened,
they hate it because the people love it and its a part of the culture, they are also afraid from large sports gatherings because many turn into riots
hence the distance from the track and the stands, to fit security, also, it shows the lack of care for building tracks when its not needed

these are all state made stadiums using the same simple old and bad design, hence the track and poor finishing

however there are 2 private football only stadiums u/c in iran, one for foolad f.c in ahvaz (27000 seater) to open for the start of the new season (september) and one 30000 seater for mes kerman f.c in kerman

This is the private stadium in the city of ahvaz, in the south of iran, being built at a descent speed , with a capacity of 27000, all seater with a roof that will cover the stands

the club that will move into the ground is Foolad Khuzestan f.c , the "recruited" team of older neighborhood clubs that existed way before its formation in the 70s

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c4/FooladKFC.svg/220px-FooladKFC.svg.png
they have been champions of iran once in the 2004-05 season of the IPL (iran premier league)

this stadium is of the first modern and private stadiums of iran, which is kind of a hopeful start to the large scale privatization of sport in iran, its kind of like the juventus arena and what it was in italy

the design and engineering group is pars gostar .co and the contractors are "jahan kosar"

sadly however , due the lack of organized managing in information services and odd working habits of persians, there are no renderings of the stadium and i personally "discovered" the stadium when looking in google maps

we need to start to learn to fill stadiums week in week out, at least 80%, 50000 is way too much for foolad

Seems it won't have athletics track?

no , thank god

Great, I looked through all Iranian major stadiums and each stadium that is used for football has athletics track included, so it is great that this country will get football only stadium.

thank you!
we have many football only stadiums , usually for smaller teams in second divisions, but their stadiums are very old and poorly maintained, instead of renovating or rebuilding in the traditional style that existed, the government destroys them and builds stupid repetitive stadiums with tracks like this (this is one of the better ones)
