Anyone into planning and its law and implementation in Jakarta?
I wonder whether Jakarta has such thing as Comprehensive Plan and/or zoning ordinances? If so, are they being managed at the kodya level or directly under Sutiyoso's administration? To what extent do the plan and ordinances cover? Does the ordinances regulates and classifies building into its class, uses, and heights? Or constructing is more a matter of laissez faire in Jakarta?

Any input (of any kind, length, etc.) will be appreciated...

Thanks once again...

Check out the website of Jakarta Planning department. The first page shows snapshots of various skylines of all cities in the world, but Jakarta! :)

http://tatakota.jakarta.go.id/ (contrast that to SIngapore URA's website http://www.ura.gov.sg/ )

I think they have comprehensive masterplan, but like many plans / regulations in Indonesia, their implementations are subject to the discretion of whoever being paid off.

Your tagname summarizes what lack of planning do to Jakarta: Havoxx.
