Im sure if when images were first released for this it had a more interesting crown.
This building is an example of how a tall residential shouldn't look- It looks quite tall and slender on the skyline but is hideously ugly& cheap. If I could afford a penthouse in this I would wait and get an apartment in Pan Penisula, Marsh wall, Beetham or any of the other planned tall resis along the greenwhich waterfront as they would all have decent views & are infinitly better than this.
Anyone know how much a penthouse in this would cost???

yes these things just ruin the perception of the tower and will weaken the drama of the emerging clusters. THere are too many of these tower blocks around london, especially to the East. This is one building where a clean up will not cover its aesthetic flaws... the only saving grace is that it wont become just a vertical social sink estate

The trouble with converting old tower blocks into apartments is that, with the exception of the added step back floors in this building, none of them have a balcony. Apartments in most new developments, such as St George Wharf, all have balconies to a certain extent. If you are going to live high, then being able to sit outside and enjoy the view is essential.

The other two were reclad only in the early nineties. I remember wondering why they had not fone this tower at the time. I despite the nice view I'm not sure if I would like to have to park my car in that estate. Whenever I used to catch the 188 I used to do a little inward shudder as the bus dicerted through it.
