The only way California to make a population stablity is to have a natural Disaster or Raise the Tax of everything!

Actually natural disasters in the past have not slowed down growth at all in california, especially the LA area. It is a given in these parts that Earthquakes, floods, fires, mudslides and waves crashing into houses, and even blizzards in the mountains happen all the time and we have to pay that price to live in this paradise.

The only thing that will send people away from Cali. (and that's happening with internal migration rates rapidly rising) is the cost of living and housing, which is already astronomical in many parts of Cali. Immigrants will choose more affordable areas.

No one is going to want to leave, or make laws that will forece out people. Even though I think illegal immagration is a huge problem. When I saw the website I was wondering were the proposals for fencing off the state or making a large mout were. People can't stop people from coming into this wondeful state. Good Luck CAPS or CFPS as they should be called.

I'm mexican (my family is NOT like this) but sadly i have to agree to this one stereotype, many families do do this, and to me that is just real sad. If they were poor in mexico, the chances are that they'll be poor here, its jz the way things works, i dont understand y ppl havent understood that the american dream isnt all that its cut up to be. i have nothing against my own people, i jz think that its gone too far, it does have to stop or eventually we will take over, haha. like the whole thing about mexicans here in california being able to vote for mexican presidential elections, i dont find that right.

Hey its worse in my neighborhood. Here are 5 things when the typical 2 families move in together.

1) Close off the Garage to make into an apartment for another family.
2) Pave the front yard to make room for the cars.
3) Build a wall about 5 feet high with Iorn spikes.
4) Buy a pittbull (by the way I was bitten by one of theres) or any other guard dog to "protect" there properties.
5) Make illegal add-ons that go against fire and safety codes.

By the way Im mexican and my parents did everything the legal way. Im still going to be called a racist though, ;).

California has a lot of out-migration from locals now becasue of the high costs of living, and their high standards. A lot of people are leaving California for the more affordable Las Vegas and Phoenix areas. Most of California's growth rate now is from mexican immigration.

^^ true true true!! i have had friends who have moved to Texas or Kansas cuz the prices here are unbelievable. even my parents have considered moving to Houston or such

Well that's what my dad did when he immigrated to the U.S. from Greece in 1970. He lived with 7 other guys in a 2 bedroom apartment for over a year.

I would imagine in this day and age, it would be virtually impossible to control population growth. Still, if there is a place where it would be benficial, California is probably it.

It is a fragile environment to begin with and the hills and mountains cause sprawl since they limit areas that can grow.

California was a dream, but the problem of dreams is they attract so many people that they lose the very qualities that drew people to them in the first place.

California, in a way, is a victim of its successes.

Illegal immigration definitely needs to be curbed. It puts a strain on everyone else's tax dollar.
