The Chemist February 19th, 2003, 04:09 AM Hi all,
Unfortunately, this tower complex is not in the top 200 in the world, but it does rank as Calgary's 2nd and 3rd tallest building, at 50 floors and 197m each. Silver tower (east) was completed in 1989, Gold tower (west) was completed in 2000. What do you think?

Hmmm..I like the 3rd picture, but I dont like the sharp angles and its too blocky for my liking. The broad side isnt very nice IMO.
Whats in the top few floors? The portion with that large expanse of glass?

CtrlAltDel February 19th, 2003, 05:34 PM I like this buildings, they fill up the skyline quite nicely, and the look classy doing it. I like TCPL more though (the gold towers in the background in the second pic) 8/10
The Chemist February 19th, 2003, 06:45 PM CtrlAltDel, the gold towers in the background are not TCPL - that's Western Canadian Place (built 1982), headquarters of Husky Energy. The TransCanada Pipelines Tower (built 2001) is across the street from Petro Canada Centre on the east side of downtown.

Overall I'd give them an 8.5/10
I really love the top and the setbacks. The facade could be more unique though. But overall these are some of my favorite towers in Calgary.
