SteelCity32 February 10th, 2003, 10:21 PM It's small. But a pretty good skyline for a city I've never heard of.
5.5/10
schmidt February 11th, 2003, 08:45 AM For such an ISOLATED city: 10/10
World standard: 8/10
So I rate it 9/10 :D
X-seed 4000 February 11th, 2003, 11:40 AM Ehh... 5.5/10
mystad February 11th, 2003, 05:52 PM Is this in Xinjiang? Or am I on crack?
renell February 11th, 2003, 08:21 PM the skylines full of of weird shaped scrapers.. 6.5 for being different, not having the aparment blokes
schmidt February 11th, 2003, 08:35 PM It's in Northwestern China, close to Novorosibirsk, Khazakistan and Mongolia
huaiwei February 12th, 2003, 12:07 AM this can rise from a desert?? Gosh! I rate it higher simply because of this! :)
Ptarmigan February 20th, 2003, 06:11 AM Urumqi, China, the most landlocked city in the world. The nearest coastline is 1,500 miles to the south, which is Bay of Bengal.
Urumqi's Population:1,039,400
no pics !
Tony 175 February 20th, 2003, 06:41 AM The skyline looks pretty weird. i give it a 6.5. :baaa:
Pablo February 20th, 2003, 03:20 PM i did not expect that urumqi has many buildings.BTW its name is awesome :D
SteelCity32 March 8th, 2003, 03:20 AM there is a few things...
5/10
Wu-Gambino March 15th, 2003, 01:50 PM Very strange! 5
ti999 March 15th, 2003, 06:52 PM I never heard of this city before. But looks like the skyline is pretty big. Though they need to add some nice looking skyscrapers.
Caledon1981 March 15th, 2003, 07:40 PM nah. . . .all the continental Chinese skylines look the same. . .. like big amusement parks. . .5/10
renell March 20th, 2003, 06:59 PM they have some weird scrapers there but unlike other Chinese cities there's really no focal point of the skyline
Swede March 20th, 2003, 09:08 PM I had heard of this city before, though we up here spell it Ürümqi:)
I'll give it 5.5/10
ryanr March 21st, 2003, 12:00 AM Its pretty crowded/dense! but nothing that impresses me too much...5.5/10

London™ April 19th, 2003, 02:42 AM 7.5/10 as an ISOLATED city
TropicalSQ744 April 19th, 2003, 06:28 PM I don't like some of the buildings there but the skyline is definately pretty good...
7.5/10
fox1 July 1st, 2003, 07:09 AM i've been pretty close to this city. the third pic cracks me up. it's so chinese. you see those blue trucks all over that country of 1.4 billion. it's a pretty wild skyline too, for a crazy backward corner of china. it looks ok but it's a bland city, with lots of problems... mainly that the chinese are there in the first place. Xinjiang is not really chinese in real terms... it is more like east turkestan.
6/10
Fabio July 31st, 2003, 08:53 AM 6.5/10
interesting skyline.
Imperfect Ending January 11th, 2004, 09:25 AM 7
Some Buildings are nice. I like how whoever made it had a nice, childish imagenation :colgate:
ParraMan January 12th, 2004, 02:36 AM 6.5
Pretty much what I expected from this city (always knew of it but nice to put a pic to the name now). Individual buildings are looking ugly, and highrises a bit too spread out, overall buildings though look dense.
Big! January 12th, 2004, 07:47 PM 7/10
SeeMacau May 22nd, 2004, 04:03 PM The skyline is quite good for an isolated city ... 8/10

Franky January 15th, 2006, 08:49 PM It looks pretty alien to me, like most Chinese cities do. It's got a pretty nice skyline for a city I have no idea how to pronounce. Before viewing this thread, I always imagined Xinjiang as only desert nomads living in felt tents and travelling with their livestock. I rate 9/10.

Very futuristic, and is very isolated in like the middle of the mountains and such.
Kiss the Rain April 13th, 2006, 11:42 AM 7/10
looks just like another mid size chinese city, actually the province of xinjiang is not all that scarely populated, much more dense than tibet as xinjiang's elavation is lower.
and one thing i dont like about towers in chinese city is that many of them seems to have a "circular disc" on top of them, not sure how everybody else feels about it but i personally dont quite like it.
Assurbanipal April 13th, 2006, 09:26 PM Not so bad, but not the best as well. 6,5/10
