yeah brother,, but if u see carefully u can see some district with fully with tall building, for example mega kuningan area, rasuna said area, thamrin area, sudirman area, senayan area.
but u all right, many major city's in ASIA hove a huge area for hi-res building, not like in Amercan or European area,, they have some "center district" better than any Asian city's

I have nothing bad to say about jakarta other than Jakarta is a great neighbour with superb skyline, every city has it plus and minuses but this is about celebrating architecture and Jakarta definitely is a gem.

Gonna love those glass cladded skyscrapers. I love those reflecting lights. I give it 8/10 cos it's lacking density.

7 from me....I've been twice to Jakarta, Feb 2010 and April 2010..the only thing nice about Jakarta is the design of the skyline..the rest...emmm maybe Im expecting too much...but now i know what is Jakarta look like...and I wish Jakarta will grow greater one fine day...

I ceased to explain to you a long time ago as you never seemed to understand, maybe lack of respect, understanding, appreciation or what is constructive, destructive and borderline 'petty' and trivial. We all have good and bad things to say and yes we all entitled to our opinions, all good BUT you seemed to poke your head on Malaysian thread just to insult and belittled KL, nothing good comes out from your comments...you ganged up all cities in SEA and literally thrashed KL when you know little of KL. Be impartial and reasonable. We have fellow Indonesians that made comments in our thread, some are good and some are respectable honest opinions and we take it with a grain of salt and totally appreciate their comments. Jakarta is a great city and I choose to celebrate that instead of digging into menial stuff but one thing I disagree with your comment in here...Jakarta the cleanest city? again Jakarta the best, according to you followed by other South East Cities and KL is always the boring, unattractive, lack 'color' etc .... whatever dude, whatever rocks your boat. What's wrong with the appearance of the buildings?

Not the best skyline to be honest, but I would give Jakarta 7.5/10.
Singapore is still the best in Southeast Asia IMO.
What's missing in Jakarta is ... water-related view! I hope Jakarta's government get more serious with those rivers and lakes.

Now its perfect 10. Lovely skyline.

this city will be great 10 years from now. with so many project develop and plan, such as menara jakarta and satrio belt.

Bangkok is neck to neck with Jakarta for now.

Even though I can't find where is the focal point for this city is. but it's ok. still nice skyline in my eyes :cheers:

One of the best skyline in SEA, and its skyline is definitely better than Bangkok skyline.
