Hong Kong to display fireworks on National Day

Hong Kong will hold a fireworks display over the Victoria Harbor on Oct. 1 to celebrate the 56th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, said the sponsor Thursday.

The Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organizations, an influential society with famous members like Li Ka-shing, said the purpose of sponsoring the fireworks is to celebrate the National Day of our motherland together with the citizens of Hong Kong and tourists from overseas.

The Chairman of the Organizations Choi Hin To told reporters the theme of this year's fireworks display is "Unity" and "Joyfulness", which carries a strong message to encourage local people to contribute to the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong.

According to the organizer, the fireworks display with a cost of 3 million Hong Kong dollars has 12 scenes and will last 23 minutes, including the 9th scene "One World One Dream", wishing the Beijing Olympic Games a great success and the last scene "Love our Motherland", wishing all the bests to the home country and Hong Kong.

BitComet is better. The newest version 0.60 even allows video preview.

Beautiful fireworks. Nicez... just too much smoke.

I wonder if hkskyline has taken any pics? :)

too bad the wind speed is not very high to clear the smoke.

Comparing this firework with the 2004 CNY firework. I think this one has a bit more variation, but not as dense as last time. The thing that i like most is the 8 little floating boats to put up small firework. There ain't a medium "peak" in the middle of the show to spice things up like the CNY. I hope they will combine the pros and cons for the coming cny show.

argh! There's no more seeds.. only a few peers with incomplete copies. 138.5mb left to go and no one on bittorrent has the remaining parts. :(

I'll seed it for you. To be honest, the Chinese New Year fireworks were better, and that video was higher-resolution too.

EDIT: I now have a bad hard drive. Looks like I won't be able to use my computer for now. Using my notebook, which does not have the file.... sorry!!! :fiddle:

here i come the rescue! I turn the computer on the off through out the day. But my computer is on at least 10 hours per day. So u will have plenty of time to download it.

According to Bitcomet, i have already uploaded 6.8 GB of that firework file. That number divide by 290MB. Hmm, i just promoted Hk tourism further this week. ;-)
