Musashi-kosugi station area, in Kawasaki city (due south of Tokyo) is to experience a skyscraper revolution within the next years. The existing NEC Tamagawa towers in JR Mukaigawara station (next to Musashi-kosugi, with 155 and 111 metres) will see up to 7 residential towers rising in the area until 2011:

-140 metres x 2 (2010/2011)
-160 metres x 3 (2008)
-170 metres (2008)
-200 metres (2008) Japan's tallest residential bldg along with Osaka's X-tower

I opened a thread on Musashi-kosugi developments long ago, I tried to recover it but the search function did not display any results. Anyway...

You see 5 residential towers over 100 metres reaching for the sky. Other 2 (?) will join the party if I remember well.

The building in the last picture was the only high-rise in the area in 1995, the ones you see in my pictures will be over 160 metres: 203.5m-162.8-161.7-161.1-160.
