Now let me tell you what's going on here! :D These guys came to Istanbul with 5 billion dollars and want to invest here. They are interested in the projects that were presented in Cannes. At least they are interested in the plots.Maybe they will build the propesed projects for the plots or they will built their own projects. One is clear:Istanbul will have many new skyscrapers and other kind of developments!!

they are mostly interested for the plots of these projects. Now it's not clear if they want to buy the plot+proposed project or just the plot and make new projects for the plots!

Some French investors came to Serbia's second(or third?) city of Nis yesterday, also with 5 billion dollars with plans to invest in the city. Both stories sound too good to be true.

It was at the headlines of the major newspapers of Turkey this morning. This is a serious and true news. If you think that primeminister of Turkey is standing behind those arab investors for nothing then you are mistaken... ;)

Man 5 billion is a very good amount of money and the news says it may rise to 10 billion! :)

5 billion $ to Istanbul (approved) (The prince of Dubai signed for the projects in Istanbul), 10 billion to whole Turkey depending on the projects.
United Arab Emirates is investing insanely on Turkey right now , considering they are itsy bitsy , but rich country.
So to the investors of the other countries of the world ; Here is a very sexy , juicy country that is stable country with numerous local some internatio nal companies to cooperate , amazing potential;, regarding white color , blue color workers , resources and a EU-member-to-be. Do not stay behind , now it's the very time to rush to El Dorado , mis amigos para siempre.

Two major land plots in Levent will be given to him for skyscraper construction:

1) Highway Administration 17 (land plot of Bosphorus Tower)
2) IETT Bus Garage

ASIMOV
October 8th, 2005, 01:34 PM
He'll invest $5 billion "only" to Istanbul:

1) Skyscraper project in Levent: Highway Administration 17 land plot
2) Skyscraper project in Levent: IETT Garage land plot
3) Hotels and facilities around the F-1 Grand Prix circuit
4) Trade centers in Tuzla district

And another $5 billion for the rest of Turkey, including:

1) Izmir Docklands Project (he wants to buy the entire project and build skyscrapers in Izmir)

They are not fake, they are all true.

The only "fake" part is that Milliyet, Hürriyet and Sabah confused these new projects with "old" projects that they saw at Emporis.Com

The new projects have nothing to do with the old proposals at Emporis.

i.e. a skyscraper will be built at Highway Administration 17's plot, but it won't be the "Bosphorus Tower" project. It will be something else.

Similarly, the skyscraper project at IETT's plot will not be "Istower", but something else (hopefully something better)

And the sheikh openly expressed his interest on participating in Izmir's Docklands project.

oh well maybe this will get turkey to change its mind and stop begging to join the EU
and instead help to form a better and hopefully peaceful one - the MEU.

Why stick to just one side when we can get the best of both worlds? ;)

It is no coincidence that Dubai's massive investment ln Istanbul came the day after membership negotiations with the EU started.

Do you really want to join EU ?

There are billions and billions of Arab investments in the US and the EU, so why should Turkey not do business with them??? 5 billion investments in Istanbul, is peanuts compared to their investments in the EU...
