It looks like Ørestad and Bella Center will get new additions pretty soon.

According to an article on JP.DK an expansion of the congress centre will allow 2.000 more guests and furthermore a 50 M hotel with 300 rooms is on its way.

Finally, Bella Center will be primus motor of a new 15.000 seat indoor arena.

The problem that remains is as usual the financing of the project...

ha, i was just about to post this news...it seams the permits for the expansion and the hotel is already given, and the people are positive about the multiarena...very good, since the plans for a multiarena in taastrup have had problems finding tennets....From this and other articles, they seam very keen to start building very soon...

And it makes sense to have a large hotel in Ørestad. In my view, there are three reasons for this.

-Royal Copenhagen Golf Center.

-The congresses at Bella Center.

-The proximity to the airport.

I would love to see an Intercontinental or Sheraton hotel.

We seriously need more of the acclaimed hotel chains in our city.

Can you believe that we didn't have a a big hotel chain in our city around the turn of the millenium? (Although Sheraton did operate what is now Scandic)

Now we have Marriott and Hilton. Let get one more...

i know. For the longest time, it was a big joke that we didnt have any any international hotel chains...And the names you mention are well known, but arent at least intercontinentel only 5 star hotels? I believe that, when they last planed the hotel out there, it was going to be a 3 star...

But if the royal copenhagen golf course becomes a succes, no doubt we will see a 5 star hotel out in ørestaden...I stil have a dream about maybe a W or and Meridien in copenhagen...or Swissotel....
