View Full Version : Who are some top photographers?
Nick in Atlanta October 7th, 2005, 03:18 PM Who are some of the top photographers around today? They may not be famous yet, but who are some that are really taking photography into some whole new areas? Those who are on the cutting edge of photography and have received some recognition from critics.
PS: Please don't name yourself. :)

Hey whever mentioned Ansel Adams..hes not around anymore nor is he unknown:) You are giving me way too much competition!:)
I agree that SSC has some good photographers. PBase is a great place for it too. I will plug my portfolio so you can se it. So click on this very long hyperlink to go there. (http://www.pbase.com/koreanczyk)
From today's photographers I find some of the Magnum guys really good like Alex Webb. hes probably the best around today in terms of photojournalistic stuff.

Good stuff..if you like that kind of thing. I never really liked nature photography though. People are more interesting I think, and I really like minimalism and graphism and with nature its totally opposite.
Tom_Green October 12th, 2005, 07:11 AM I was abel to download all winners of the 2002 world press award over emule. There are real nice pics, but i don`t know the name of the photographers.

Have you ever visited _real_ photography sites and forums mate? There are some excellent photographers in SSC, but almost all photos here are just snapshots taken with no concentration or vision. I don't know any worldwidely famous photographers, but normal hobby photographers can take very good pictures, if they just have interests to advance their hobbies.

Yeah I agree with you about that. But He's still an amazing photographer. When you walk into his galleries and see these prints at like 2m in length framed all over the walls its just like WOW.
Ellatur October 13th, 2005, 01:52 AM lol sorry guys. i have not visited a photography forum yet :)

Hehehe Im on some real photography forums:) I actually reccommend people join up photosharing sites to improve their art. As far as SSC you will find thata lot of the photos here are not just snaps. Look at the UPC winners and nominees, there are really awesome shots there that took thought to take.
hkskyline October 16th, 2005, 10:44 AM There are some amazing photographers from Montreal over in SSP.
