Well... I am interested in every kind of infrastructure.Airports, ports, highways, railways, metro etc.. Since Isarel is the most developed country in the region it has to have the best infrastructure but I've never seen any photos expect one airport that Zohar posted in the turkish forum.Could you show me some pictures of your highwys, airports, metro, railways etc.. For example do you have highspeed-lines?

From what i read, their infrastructure is very good but they lack any rail based mass transit systems(that is changing though).

Not changing well enough, though - that LRT is going to be a POS.

Here's a fansite of the Israel Railways - it has some photos of the stations.

israel railways is the fastest growing railway for the past two years in the world.
about 20 new stations and many more to come.

israel underground is non-existan, plans for 25 years for subway in tel aviv set to start in 2006 (or so they promise)

israeli infrastructure is improving after years of neglect: billions pouring into new roads including the newly built highway (toll) crossing the country "road 6" (kvish 6) which is the equivalent of the german "autoban".
and plans for a ring-road around jerusalem, jerusalem begin avenue tunnels, a lot of huge interchanges.
haifa is starting the carmel tunnels project to connect the south of the city under the carmel with the bay area, one of the largest and deepest tunnels in the world.

air: new multi-billion air terminal opened 4 years late in 2004 "natbag 2000"
a visionary terminal planned as an off-shore island to replace dov airfield in tel aviv,
eilat and haifa building larger new international terminals.

sea: haifa building a multi-billion nis extension to carmel port (2005-2010)
ashdod finishing construction of eitan port (millenium port), largest seaport in the east mediterrenian after genova.
ashdod new 600 vessel marina.

ligh rail:
jerusalem building two light-rail lines crossing the city, planned opening for 2006-7.

1. Summary: Israel is investing roughly $1 billion in the first stage of its expansion plans for its two Mediterranean ports, located in Ashdod and Haifa. U.S. engineering companies, Jordan Woodman Dobson, Moffatt and Nichol, and Parsons Brinckerhoff were involved in the preliminary planning of both ports, and Han Padron completed the detailed design of Haifa's Carmel port. Ashdod's HaYovel port is scheduled to become operational in mid-2004. Haifa's Carmel port is scheduled for completion by the end of 2006. The Israel Ports and Railways Authority (PRA) administers both projects.

2. A Spanish-Israeli joint venture between Dragados and Ashtrom is completing a 1,150-meter long extension of the main breakwater and the construction of two quays, including reclamation and dredging work. The PRA is currently evaluating bids for the construction of the terminal areas.

Along the two new quays, the port will have a waterside depth of 14 meters. An 850-meter long general cargo and bulk quay will be equipped with 7-10 cranes, capable of handling 2.5 million tons of cargo annually. A 600-meter long, 50 ha container quay, to be equipped with 6 post-panamax container gantry cranes will have annual handling capacity of 450,000 TEU. The stacking yard will have 36 Rubber-Tired Gantry cranes. A new gate complex will replace the existing gates.

Haifa's Carmel Port

3. The PRA plans to issue the pre-qualification tender for the construction of the Haifa Carmel port in December 2002, with final award targeted for July 2003. The Carmel port development lags behind the HaYovel port due to delays in the statutory process. The project will include two new quays, a 700-meter container quay and a 250-meter long feeder or general cargo quay. Both quays will have a 14-meter waterside depth. The 300-meter wide container terminal will be built on reclaimed land and will be equipped with 6 post-panamax container gantry cranes. A 1,000- meter-long sea wall to be constructed on the eastern side of the development will provide berthing facilities for non-operational vessels. At the inner end of the quay a ro-ro ramp will be available to service ro-ro vessels. Similar to the HaYovel port, the Carmel port will also include an upgrade of the gate complex.

Another big road thats gonna be built next week is Ashdods Southern interchange, an anticipated interchange which is going to (hopefully) solve Ashdods endless traffic jam in the southern entrance to the city. There are also plans to build a second train station in Ashdod which will be located in the center of the city in the "City" area, it will be built near Ashdods central bus station, but a starting date wasnt published yet

There are some pictures in this site:

I saw this picture on one of the web sites you have given to me. ( http://www.danya-cebus.co.il/eng/M3/M3_1_E.asp )

I always wanted to build roads in Turkey with 2 lanes. One normal lane which is for cars and one "XXL lane" for heavy trucks and intercity buses. So they wouldn't distrub the traffic and car drivers.Does this system really exist in Israel or why is the lane on the right side much larger? It could be also still under construction that's why it is larger... But I hope you usemy system in Israel

no, it's not that. It's just that the highway wasn't ready yet. It's Highway 6, I think.

Btw, government approved a 19Bil Shekel five year budget of the Israeli Highway company, which is one of the main government infrastructure companies in Israel.

I dont think Israel builds its own railway or tram cars, perhaps they wanted to buy and refurbish older ones..
