Look at that view! Between LA Live Hotel and that other building. There's a full line of blocks with like a parking lot or something! It does not match at all! They need a high rise about 5 floors shorter than the Hilton Hotel or something to fill in that space man! Thats not a good look!

well, right behind the hotel is the Metropolis project with 4 towers of 30, 42, 46 and 55, and then to the right there are plenty of projects to fill those too gfromt he hanover tower of 27 stories, the FIDM toers of 19, the Asanti Project of two 27 story towers, the 9th and fig tower of 37 and a few more residentials.

^Plus, even without Metropolis and the other projects, it will still look WAY better than it does now.

Also, are they planning some sort of closer connection to the Blue Line? Because seriously, I doubt train riders will walk those two blocks to LA Live. I mean, even Times Square has like 4 lines coming to it. You'd think there'd be some sort of subway or something to it.

its two short blocks! come on, people will walk that and do walk that. Also, the 7th street station i two blocks away too and plenty of people walk that too. i did last week to go to a kings game. not a big deal at all. you ahve the subway there, the blue line and in the near future you ahve the expo line and the downtown connector.

Thats you, not everyone is willing to walk two blocks.

Tonight I walked from the 7th/metro station to Staples Center, it wasn't that bad. I do agree that many people don't like to walk, though...perhaps the redcar concept will tie into this?

Anwway you guys should remember that something is something, we should be glad that La Live is going to start construction at all. We should not pay as much attention to the fact that there probrably will be one block of parking space. We should be glad that it would probrably be one block of parking space, instead that the 27 acres of it that we have right now.
Next time think before acting. Bytheway, LA Live will be close to offramps of the 110 freeway, so there's another way to get there.

Are you that lazy to not walk 2 blocks?

No, but remember, this is AMERICA. Soon, 7 out of 10 people will be obese. You really think those 7 people will want to walk to and from there? Thats the problem with so many projects nowadays, they think they know but they don't ask every group of people.

The thing is, those fat people who don't want to walk 2 blocks wouldn't be riding the train anyway. 30 percent of the population is still a huge percentage, especially if those 30 percent were riding the train.

But even then, I still think it'd look great if they have an East-West train that goes directly to LA Live and has connections with the Pico station. LRT or subway it'd look great.

Yeah, that would definitely be great. The more (practical) rail in Los Angeles, the better. Downtown needs a lot more, and I think some sort of redcar or any other form of rail would be wonderful.

there is a proposal for the red car to be brought back. they are currently studying it. it would complement the downtown connector subway which would tie together the GOLD, red, Blue and Expo lines to allow for transfer free rides throughout the city.

Do you have any more details over this proposal? I'd love to hear more. :D

first one is a google search about the red line and the second link is a link to the transit coalitions webpage. look for the connector thread, it should be a few links down.

I think the expo line is going to double up with the blue line on that portion of the route, so there will probably be more trains running.
