It's a memorial to those who fought in WW1.

Well that is the plan i think. Certainly the interior should be turned into a hotel or something like that since its not being used atm. The exterior is still lovely though and that's what people see anyway, that great golden face is always up for a great photo.

Cheers

Those trams are fantastic. The old one under the canopy of trees reminds me of the St. Charles streetcar in New Orleans.

What impresses me most about Melbourne are all those lovely old Victoria and Federation era houses you get in the suburbs or Carlton, Fitzroy, South Yarra, Hawthorn, St.Kilda, Albert Park, South Melbourne etc...

You don't get that anymore around the world.

Thanks for all the compliments about our city!! Melbourne is a great city and I'm proud to call it home. Vancourver in Canada would be my next preference if Melbourne didn't exist and that to deserves it's title as the world's most livable. Melbourne is an awsome place and I never get sick of going downtown, it's skyline is now forever changing. It is a very safe place, very relaxed city yet fast pased during the week. Hope you all get a chance to visit one day. The other cities accross Australia are awsome too. Sydney is so beautiful and deserves it's recognition although, sometimes, maily international tourists don't realise Australia's has many other urban assets also. All great places to live yet so distictively different but the people are the same, happy and welcoming to anyone accross the planet who visits. The quality of life here is great.
