On the slope of the famous Shaitan (Satan/Devil) mountain, there are some wonderful waterfalls, a beautiful lake and the satanic city of Lahijan! :)

it really needs to be developed more though, i went there on my visit to iran and it could be one of the best cities in the world but its really underdevoloped. beautiful pics.

People in Gilan are the nicest Iranians you ever meet, I can tell you that from personal experience, my mother is from Roodsar which is in Gilan , the people are modest and plain .

^ The city is not called shaytan city.. the mountain that overlooks the city is called Koh-e Shaytan / Mt. Shaytan.. BTW, welcome to the Iran forum... nice to have visitors lol :)

why called city of Satan?

It is not called the city of satan.. there is a mountain that over looks like city which is called Mt. saytan and has "satan falls" as well, something to do with local folk stories... nothing to do with the city, that was just clever thread titling...

I'm in loved with Iran!! It's really a very beautiful country! Nice people, pretty cities, awesome landscapes, deliciuos food and very interesting culture!!
