Rahmani May 16th, 2007, 10:09 AM Great pictures. Iranians should be ashamed of polluting those beaches!
teh_endeshe May 16th, 2007, 10:41 PM Gilgamesh Since you edited my post, Can you tell me where else is this hotel besides Namak Abroud, and some of the other ones I posted! If you've been there you would know that Namak Abroud is not just the gated community Very small portion of it lies on the opposite side, on the beach!

Persan May 17th, 2007, 02:55 AM That's the old Hyatt Regency Caspian. It's now the Azadi Caspian as Hyatt pulled out in 1980. The hotel is in Chalus.

I have visited this hotel 2 years ago. It is really rundown and looks like not taken care of since 1980. It has rooms with semi-broken window glass and could definitely use some paint.
Although the flower garden does look beautiful and those get the needed attention.
persian May 20th, 2007, 01:26 PM cool pics

Namak Abrood looks so nice. keep the pictures comming.
Persan April 4th, 2009, 02:29 AM Is that the Parsian Hotel, in Shapoor's picture? I thought it was the Azadi hotel? In anycase, it used to be the Hyatt Regency Caspian before the revolution.
FreeToLove April 5th, 2009, 01:06 PM Wait another 10 years, Its gonna be 1 million city. If i was the mayor, I would turn this place into Miami!

peykantm March 27th, 2010, 10:53 AM Thanks Shugs, some people may like the after picture, but I hate it. To me it is a sign of all the good things in Shomal being ruined.
iman08 March 27th, 2010, 07:13 PM ^^I also hate buildings in this nature..., but what can we do. I mean everyone love's to be there. My suggestion is to build less, but higher buildings. Instead of building so many villa's it's better to build a bit taller buildings(mostly hotels) which should of course fit to the nature there.
shugs March 27th, 2010, 07:56 PM Personally I have nothing against towns that already existed being developed, but I am against traditional villages being engulfed by lifeless villas that eventually kill the community driving out the locals to nearby towns and also building on agricultural land.
It would be better for the economy and habitat if people stopped buying/building villas and merely stayed in hotels/resorts. But I doubt the affluent would be in any hurry to do that. I doubt there is going to be much Mazandaran left once everyone in Tehran who can afford it has their dream villa built there.
iman08 March 27th, 2010, 09:01 PM ^^exactly...
peykantm March 28th, 2010, 11:29 PM The development needs to be spread around the country. Yes, Shomal is beautiful, and close to Tehran, but we have provinces such as East and West Azerbaijan, Lorestan, Khorasan, Kohgelooye and Booyer Ahmad, Kurdistan... that are beautiful naturally and can easily be made tourist friendly by private developers, just as they have done (too much) in the North.

Nimaa June 4th, 2011, 02:21 AM what a beautiful place
hopefully the pop'n increase won't destroy it
SoroushPersepolisi June 4th, 2011, 03:12 AM it is and will unfortunently, alot of the buildings and houses are ugly as hell, and it still looks quite tacky and cheap (railings on the side of the streets, the colours of public utilities etc), and they plan the streets in grids :( kar ina ziad dare hopefully itl get better :)
