Yeah its on Jail road on land which was previously owned by WASA, their was news that LDA has plans to build a new LDA plaza on Jail road but considering that the current LDA plaza is only 10-storeys tall I expected it to be around 15 storeys but 40 storey 600ft is very nice, finally Jail road will have a nice tall building.

why do lda need such a tall building, there arnt even 50 employees there

The plot on which LDA plans to build LDA tower is adjacent to Land mark plaza just opposite to eden tower. At the moment the plot is occupied by WASA. It is HQ wasa lhr. The total No. of employees of LDA & WASA both exceed 15,000. They have real shortage of space these days. It is heartening that LDA has taken bold step in the days of earthquake. LHr. does not lie in danger seismic zone. Two dangerous active fault lines near lahore are one margalla fault line also called MBT at a distance of 270km the other is New dehli fault line at disatne of 325 km. So looking at the seismic map of the region Lhr. seems the safer place to build tall buildings. At the end one should say Allah knows better.

Actually its a commercial tower, it will have 160 offices which will be sold, LDA will keep no more than 3 or 4 floors for itself (just like the current building, LDA only has the 9th,10th & 11th floor there).

tagga any news on that 38 story tower which was under construction on main boulevard by that european company.

^Someone said that its an apartment tower but its very strange that they arent advertising it.

Its being built by some "Tameer" company and its ground breaking was done in Sept.(it was published in some newspaper).

Its height (412ft) was approved by LDA in late March (cant remember the exact date, I read it in Daily Jang)

could any one get the renderings of the LDA tower as soon as possible. its great to see so many tall buildings being built in lahore...i wish karachi would be getting some too.

What's going to happen to the old LDA Building?

^They'll just sell the upper floors where LDA has its office, the other 7-8 storeys were sold when the plaza was made in the 80s.

well let see...half of the mega projects announced have been shelved due to the sudden downfall of the property in lahore which has forced the builders to halt there projects... the biggest example is of the lake city which is not gettin any buyer... commercial propert has been more effected than resdential

How can it be the LDA building or any rendering for that? Its a clear-cut consructed building's photograph of a foreign country.Is parco tower under consruction or still not started?what about punjab govt's hotal plans and new PC in Lahore?

you are probly comparing it to the renderings made on paint by those 3rd class architechs. this is what you call a professional rendering using CAD.

Nope, Projects in Pakistan just take a long time to get into the construction phase.

This project was proposed in March 2005, designs were presented in October 2005 and finally approved in January 2006, So it would take some time before the construction starts.

BTW I dont think that is LDA Tower's design, that pic was published in "The News" and I think its an actual building.

What do you people think about the location? I think it has the best location among the proposed towers (this one is actually approved in terms of funds not structural details) An angular view of Main Boulevard, a view of Gymkhana golf course and Upper mall (On which highrises were legalised a couple of months ago and 1 has already been approved, don't know about its height though it could be anything above 200ft tall).

I hope and pray It will Inshallah be realised soon. In a supplement of DAWN, they mentioned SZC is the tallest in the Sub-continent. Its really a matter of ppppppppppppride. Allah protect Lahores projects

Yes, There is a lazzy and unproductive period regarding Lahore updates and news. Previously every day there were updates and news about Lahore.I think people are bussy.

I first heard about this project 4 years ago.

Obviously if they demolish a place of prayer for this project, they're going to build a grander version in it's place.
