"The Barjeel Residential Tower which means 'wind tower' is so far the tallest building in Qatar. It consists of 54 floors, 2 of which are designed to have 6 two-storey villas and one level will have 2 luxury villas. The top 2 floors of the tower will contain world-class restaurants. Work is underway for this prestigious project in West Bay, Doha which is expected to be finished in 2008. The project is designed by Arab Engineering Bureau for Al Fardan Real Estate Company."

It looks weird...And why r they so confused in Doha...The tallest planned building in Qatar?? Is it just really old news or are they misinformed??
When i went to Doha for a weekend about a month ago, i remember reading about a 50 odd story tower, a 'smart' tower, it was also said to be the tallest building in Qatar...Whats this all about!?

I hope it's clear, in front of City Center, behind Dolphin Tower, but on the right of W Hotel...it can not be accessed from the road though, that's why it can't easily be seen..

the project has been paused due to the asian games..... this was the decision by the main contract due to high costs in everything and delay in shipments at that time....... construction has started again they are now working on the basement levels... and it should start appearing very soon......

Actually, if you take a look in the construction, you can see a square foundation with steel columns out. So, not that far advanced.

As this street is going downward, i always thought it would be good to continue it further and build a tunnel directly leading to West Bay... a kind of short tunnel that would be so helpful leading directly to the towers district...hehe I like this idea!!
