I love the irony of this picture. Rural, meet urban. Urban meet rural, how do you do!

^^ they look so far from each other but If you are actually on eglinton and Mclaughlin standing....you wouldn't believe how close it actually is

and that intersection is probably the last bit of farmland there is in Mississauga....I guess the owner is stubborn

to close....MCC would be spectacular if people where around

Yeah, I has wanted to take those pictures of the farm for a long time now, knowing that it will probably be gone soon. I waited too long and it is amazing that it is still there.

I'm pretty sure there is a bit more farmland though. Whenever I pass by on the 401, I always pass by a couple within the 'Sauga border. Mind you this is all in the NW portion of the city that is quickly being gobbled up by suburbs.

According to what i've heard so far...One Park Tower is already in excavation....and since Citygate is already done Solstice should be U/C soon provided that Solstice sold most of their units. Solstice and CityGate are both Davies-Smith Developments

The ones I am curious about...are....Widesuites...Universal...the rest of the Absolute towers...

Also that massive land that, I believe, Rogers owns is huge...and I am curious to know what is up over there...It is actually on the other side of the street of the Daniels' sales office near Confederation and Burnhamthorpe.

BTW all this should be discuss in the Mississauga Developments Thread, shouldn't it?

Yeah you are right, there is a bit of farmland...but the 401 in the NW part of Mississauga is actually extremely close to the Brampton border...it's right up on the limits of the city...which is why there is a bit of farmland there....but not lots...it's mostly the drug companies...and microsoft

No, Addisonwesley is talking about the expansion of the City Centre Transit Terminal. The addition to the bus terminal is located east of the current terminal along Rathburn, so the bus terminal is now an L-shape and current entrance is closed off and moved to the east. This allows 4 new bus bays and the current bus bays to the west of the terminal wil be moved to the terminal itself, including the eastbound York University GO bus stop because they are so far away. The exit to the terminal will be widened also to ease the gridlock of buses.

In addition, they are building a new north-south road called Station Gate Rd. connecting Rathburn Rd and Centre View Dr at the terminal. The west side this road will have bus bays of its own.

All this is necessary because the current terminal is operating cannot handle the volume of passengers and this is holding MT back. It was designed to handle 20,000 passengers per day but it operating at 30,000 to 40,000 per day. Or something like that.

Construction will be complete in one week, according to one of the supervisors I talked to.

Would changing the 'road' and 'drive' designations in Mississauga's er-....city centre(?) to 'street' make it seem more, downtown-ish?

Looking at that lone farm is kinda sad.
It would be great if the city could buy that piece for parkland so it could be a true oasis in a sea of suburbia.
It would be a real gem and they would thank the lucky stars they did 20 years from now.

The land between Hurontario and Mavis is owned by Orlando corp. Its zoned for office/industrial i believe
