I don't know why I like so much this church. It is located in beautiful coastal suburb of Glyphada (http://www.glyfada.gr) (text in Greek, nice pics with the church right on the opening page).
Although surprisingly original in design, in fact, this church is not a genuine Byzantine one.
Construction on the temple devoted to the Saints Konstantine and Helen started in the early 1930's and was completed in 1938, albeit the then completed church was much smaller in size than what it is now. In 1942 during an air raid by the allied air forces (Glyphada is located at a close distance to the old Athens Airport in the Hellenikon area which, during WWII was used by the occupying axis forces as a transportation hub), a bomb destroyed the small temple.
After the war, a new and much bidgger church was built, which in my view is one of the many jewels of this beautiful suburb. The temple is visited both by orthodox Christians, as well as many other visitors belonging to different Christian and non-Christian religious doctrines aalike, and is one of the highlights of the area...
So, although not an original church dating back to the Byzantine era, this one possesses one of the most original architecture designs you may find in Greece for a church in my view :).
