DOHA: The grand Regency Hotel is “only the first phase of regency group’s series of investments in the vibrant hospitality industry.

The luxurious 5-star hotel will open soon providing second to none facilities in Qatar.

The 192-room hotel located at in Al Sadd area, also features 21 suites divided into 3 categories – executive, corner and pavilion. Among the restaurants, one offers Lebanese cuisine, another Moroccan and third Chinese, in additional to an all day dining restaurant.

The Moroccan restaurant was said to be the first of its kind in the capital. Grand Regency Hotel will be offering Qatar’s very first state of the art facilities to accommodate from the most enthusiastic sports gore to busiest individuals.

The hotel will be hosting visitors who will arrive Doha for next years Asian Games. By 2006 the hotel will be extended to add 100 more guest rooms, a spa, health club, a wedding and conference hall accommodating up to 1,000 people, swimming pool and a double basement car park.

---------------------------------------
I think its a good idea to spread the hotels around Doha instead of creating one road with twenty 5 star hotels. Also, this is new as it is a national brand owned by private people instead of the government.

This is it... no way i doubt it. I thought this building was an apt, building ?!?! Its the building right next to the sports roundabout opposite Hamad Hospital. I knew they would keep the apt. till the asian games, bus I didnt have any idea they would be turning it into a hotel.

That was exactly what I thought when I first saw it! But I am 100 percent sure. They even have the signs and everything. I think that area in Doha is going to be all commercial and mid-rises with department stores.

Nice, that dome looks like it's Indian style but the building has a different feel to it.

You know what the rumor is. There is currently a study and their has be a tender out for the design competation for the whole redevelopment of the area between Doha Cornish till the C-Ring Road. The vision is to create this whole area into one major commerical zone and no resdintial areas, except for apts. This is why neigbourhoods, and i kid you not, whole neigbourhood like al bidda and soon wadi al sal are being demolished and from resdintal zones turned to commerical zones. A lot of ppl are getting worreid, espically in wadi il sal coz all the houses there are brand new villas.

Isnt this building Al Asmkh property ??

Grand Regency Hotel is indeed a stylish B+6 building at Sports Roundabout.
Al Asmakh Real Estate Development Co. is the owner.
