I hope i am not offending anyone but I find Capital Tower kinda ugly and lack aesthetic. It looks like a rocket with flat nose from far. :) Photos are well taken though. Just a personal opinion.

^ why sound so scared that you might offend someone? its totally a personel view weather one likes or dislike a building and he/she got all the rights to voice out why... as long as nothing of vulgarities... :)

no lar, just that i have been to quite a few forums and chances that when 9 person said something is good, the 10th person who said it's bad always kena roasted alive even if it is just an honest one person view!!! LOL :) Anyway, let's not digressed too far.

Which is the highest floor in Capital Tower that is freely accessible by public members? I bet it has a good bird eyes' view of Singapore finance district looking fm that angle. :)

^^ Not officially. But if you walk past the information counter and go to take the lift, it's unlikely someone will stop you. Unless it's not office hours maybe ;-)

Anybody been to the top floor of Capital Tower, the part with the colour-changin lights (China Club)? I was at a press conference at the China Club a couple of weeks ago...well, the place is dissapointing. It was supposed to be a high-flyers' club for the social elite...but yikes, that place is not very well maintained...not very posh in fact. The concierge was so "auntie-uncle"...The food and service...mediocre.

And most tragically...u dont exactly get a good view of the city, i was expecting some sort of observation deck setting...but no, all the windows were laced with some stupid oriental binds...and to my horror, the washing and service area of the club takes up the entire northern facade! So if u use your binos and look into the top floor's northern facade, u'll see nutin but washer ladies and big gigantic fridges.

And i always imagined the China Club to encompass the tall grand glass atrium at the top, with the colour-lightshow projected from inside. But no, dont be fooled...the glass atrium at the top is tragically unutilised. China Club built their own false ceiling that cuts away the glass atrium. So in actual fact, the glass top is nothing but an empty cement void, with absolutely no access.

Yikes.

That sounds disappointing...would be great if they could turn the place into some nice hip club or trendy lounge similar to New Asia Bar

Pengui

It's not for aesthetics, it's for the maintenance guy to come change the spotlights I think :-)

RafflesCity

quite dramatic for a spotlight location

well if they put some railings it could also serve as a nice corporate balcony! :D

yah agree...for me the focus is not really on the individual, but more on what one has discovered, seen, and captured in pictures that brings about a unique moment, or conveys information on what is actually taking place..."infotainment" :)

The blank wall facade of the part of Capital Tower might suggest that something could be built abutting it in future...but I hope the park stays for as long as possible...the city needs some breathing spaces

Agreed. I walk through it every other day during lunch and it's always very refreshing. They have some strange pillar sculpture things going on there too. Not sure what that's supposed to mean, but..
