Longueuil aussi, close to Pratt and Whitney.

Why so much hate for Longueuil?

Man, I think I'll do a hidden Longueuil thread one of these days, and make people guess what city I am posting from ;). Anytown, North America?

Im not too far from you...

What do you think of the renovation of the Waterman Pen Factory(on St-Denis) into condos? I think the material looks cheap or low quality, but yet I think the price was fairly expensive.

The Taylor's renovations on Victoria improved the front but they should have used the same colour of brick on both buildings.

Haven't seen the renovations to the Waterman Factory. I don't go there very often!

Montreal, on University in the McGill Ghetto. Hopefully next year somewhere between the Parc and Jean-Talon stops on the metro, or near the Plamondon stop.

Why would you wanna leave the Ghetto? It's one of the better neighborhoods in Montreal!

not exactly, it's about where Jacques-Cartier Bridge land onto the island, between the Village and Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

^ I'd like to get off campus. There also isn't a lot to do right in the ghetto--you have to walk to St.-Laurent or downtown to find a place to eat.

Ghetto is residential so there are no fast food joints. There are a couple of places on Parc St. though which is right nearby (Chez Cora, some Indian resaurant and a couple of French ones too. Subway is located close to Prince Arthur and in the underground passage close to Cinema du Parc there are a actually quite a few places to eat).

How much are ya paying?

There is a lot to do closeby: St.Laurent is 5 minute walk from McGill. What are u looking for then?

Ok sorry, I though of Centre Ouest.
Your part of town is getting noticed, hope you own the place cause prices are gonna explode.

Yeah, this area is nice, but it's not exactly what I want--I'd like something with more immigrants, more non-students, more cheap food places. I'm considering the area directly west of downtown along Ste.-Catherine, the area between the Jean-Talon Market and the little India west of there, and the neighborhood near the Plamondon stop on the metro.

I'm paying $650 per month to the university to live in an apartment they own here.

I don't know much about Plamandon station area but it is close to Villa Maria and there are lots of immigrants there. The places around the orange line are more of a blue collar, immigrant type of neighbourhoods. Cool place now is Ste. Henri, right before Lionel Groux - it is one of montreal's poorest neighnourhoods but it is close to downtown and has some fastfood joints.

Plamondon would definitely match your perference. Lots of cheap restaurant, traditional, and fast food. There is Curry House (caribbean), Jolli (Sri Lankan)... so forth.

Also near Cote St. Catherine (metro) it is similar. A high presence of Jewish Community. Jewish General Hospital, Jewish Community Centre, The Jewish Gallery... Also a high concentration of Sri Lankan, philippininos, and lots more!
