This 4-lane boulevard through the city centre with three consecutive roundabouts should pose some *interesting* traffic situations. It opens next month, and construction of the connecting highway westbound starts next year. It will form a strange link between a divided highway and a 6-lane urban boulevard which eventually leads to a 2-lane bridge to Ottawa (an old historic rail bridge). Something tells me these roundabouts will be short-lived :bash:

This project replaces the old projected route of Autoroute 50, which now ends perpendicular to this boulevard.

Roundabouts are the best solution for high-traffic intersections. I don't know why we don't have more! They're so common in Europe, I don't see why they wouldn't be suitable for Canadian divers.

Every time I visit Ottawa, I always dislike the way roads there are planned. "You can see where you want to get, but you can't get there."

I see that this kind of planning is crossing into Quebec, that is not good.
