View Full Version : What are you favorite Canadian cities to visit?
Lucky 24 November 4th, 2005, 01:36 AM Mine is Montreal. I hear Calgary, St. Johns and Quebec City are great as well but I haven't found the time to travel there.
I also really enjoyed the drive from Vancouver to Whistler...it's gorgeous out there.
So what are yours?
Jaye101 November 4th, 2005, 01:39 AM Qcity...and I'm guessing Vancouver (I WANNA GO:().
malek November 4th, 2005, 02:05 AM I've only been in Ottawa, Qc City and Toronto.
Toronto for me because I have many buddies over there and I can find stuff to do :)
salvius November 4th, 2005, 02:07 AM Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, and Vancouver in no particular order.
snoopy November 4th, 2005, 02:31 AM i like to visit Edmonton, Montreal and Vancouver.
Love living in Toronto. =D
jeicow November 4th, 2005, 03:08 AM Enjoy Q.C., Ottawa and Montreal the most.
Vancouver was nice, but I didn't spend enough time downtown so I didn't get the feel of it. Halifax was nice, but it rained the entire time. Only has stopovers in Alberta so I can't talk about Ed and Cal.
*Jarrod November 4th, 2005, 03:14 AM i've been to edmonton, calgary (but that was just a drive-thru. my mom wouldn't let us stop there because she went there like 25yrs ago and she has a grudge against it. it's the same thing with seattle...weird), vancouver and well, victoria. i'm only putting victoria down because i used to live in prince rupert and i used to travel there all the time. oh, and kelowna. my favourite was edmonton, then vancouver, then kelowna, then victoria. haha...
Vanman November 4th, 2005, 04:13 AM I really want to go to Montreal , and possibly Toronto
oceanmdx November 4th, 2005, 04:34 AM Driving to the cities of the Okanagan: from Osoyoos to Kelowna to Vernon. Driving around the metro Victoria area is also nice.
algonquin November 4th, 2005, 04:37 AM Ottawa and Montreal for me, though I love each and every one of them (the only major Canadian city I haven't been to is Edmonton)
Travis007 November 4th, 2005, 04:37 AM The only places I've been to so far are Toronto (live here), Niagara Falls, Kingston, Ottawa, Gatineau, and Montreal.
I hope to one day visit Quebec City, Eastern Canada, Edmonton/Calgary, and BC. :)
crazyjoeda November 4th, 2005, 09:20 AM I live in White Rock which is pretty much Vancouver but I still love going downtown, its with out a doubt my favorite city.
As for places I don't live but have been; Victoria, Ottawa, Whistler, Toronto, Halifax, Calgary, Kelowna(in order).
Places I don't like to much; Edmonton, Winnipeg, Niagara Falls.
Places I'v never been but sure I'll love; Quebec City, Montreal.
Nanaimo Bars November 4th, 2005, 09:52 PM I really enjoyed my time in all the Canadian cities I have been in. Victoria and Quebec city are the two I enjoy the most. I would love too visit the Atlantic provinces someday.

samsonyuen November 5th, 2005, 12:05 AM Of the ones that I've been to, that I've enjoyed visiting, but wouldn't want to live, I'd say Montréal. What an awesome city!
algonquin November 5th, 2005, 02:28 AM I have never been to Halifax before...I want to go to Newfoundland and explore...actually i wanna check out hte whole maritimes...I have never passt the GASPE...then I want to go to yellowknife and see if I can get access to the diamond mines
You'll love Newfoundland... it's sooo underrated.
oceanmdx November 5th, 2005, 02:41 AM ^^ I lived in Nfld for a year, the western side has the best scenary.
Skybean November 5th, 2005, 03:04 AM I went back to Vancouver a few years ago. It was a great experience, even though I only visited for about 3 days. The nature, the scenery, it's all amazing. Mountain views are something that you just don't get in Toronto. I was born in Vancouver and left when I was 1 year old. So I guess that makes me a Vancouverite *gasp*
I've also been to Banff, Jasper, Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City. Never been to Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Territories nor the maritime provinces.
Oaronuviss November 5th, 2005, 03:13 AM Niagara Falls (whole region), Toronto, London, Montreal, Quebec City, Mmm... yeah.
ryanr November 5th, 2005, 05:19 AM I also really enjoyed the drive from Vancouver to Whistler...it's gorgeous out there.
I agree, its a great drive. Absolutely beautiful. I'd love to drive around BC and to Alberta next summer.:)
Rhino November 5th, 2005, 06:58 AM Osoyoos , Vancouver , Kelowna , Panticton , Edmonton , St.Albert , Calgary , Regina and saskatoon I suppose
Lucky 24 November 5th, 2005, 07:11 AM Osoyoos? Where is that? Some pics would be great.
oceanmdx November 5th, 2005, 07:17 AM ^^ Osoyoos is at the very southern end of the Okanagan valley. It is virtually right on the border. It has the warmest spring weather in Canada.
On June the 4 th of this year, I was there eating newly picked cherries - on June 4th!
I should say that the town is very small, but as you drive to the east, you go up a mountain and get a spectacular view of the town and the lake.
۩SkyScraper۩ November 5th, 2005, 07:33 AM Toronto,Calgary, Vancouver,Regina, and Halifax.
oceanmdx November 5th, 2005, 07:34 AM Here is that view, but it is way more spectacular when you are there:

You don't get the sense of height in the photo. They warn you about rattlesnakes here. Up on the mountain can be found one or more bed & breakfast places that have professional telescopes (with a big dome) because it is one of the best places in Canada for astronomy. It's a small but interesting place with cherry and apple orchards all around. Lots of grape vines too.

Look at his equipment.
What a country!
oceanmdx November 5th, 2005, 07:47 AM Osoyoos has a bit of a condo boom going on (low rise stuff). You can fly into Kelowna from TO non-stop and drive there.

rtbedm November 5th, 2005, 09:09 PM Montreal, Halifax, Toronto, Calgary and Ottawa are my Faves, Have to get to Vancouver
TreeBeard November 5th, 2005, 11:49 PM Tuktyuktuk N.W.T it is really cool there. I guess of any Ontario city I would have to go with London.
Overground November 6th, 2005, 03:05 AM I've been all over Canada and the city I love the most would have to be Victoria. In second place I really like Ottawa.
Plumber73 November 6th, 2005, 03:20 AM I still haven't been out east. I'd like to visit Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Halifax, the whole deal. That is unfortunately on the back burner, because I have plans to go to Europe first.
big W November 6th, 2005, 10:56 PM I have been to 9 of the 10 provinces (damn I wanna go to the 3 territories and Newfoundland) For me I loved all the Major Canadian cities that I have visited as they are all different. For every province I have visited I have gone to the major cities of the province. Some things I like about each city and some I dislike about each city. In the end they are all great and I enjoyed them all.
TreeBeard November 7th, 2005, 03:27 AM Been to Vancouver, YellowKnife, Tuktyuktuk, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, everywhere in Ontario, Montreal.
So I guess my dream Canadian vacation would be to go to St. John's and watch Great Big Sea perform there live.
railway stick November 15th, 2005, 03:20 PM Vancouver, most beautiful city on earth,
Quebèc, historic town and French influence,
Kamloops, a typical midwest fast-growing town, I remember the house with the 13 black cats....
I visited Canada West in 2001 and Canada East in 2003.
